Are the analog 4 pin header signals easily modified to accept an instrument signal from 1/4" jqck? Or are there variables in the acceptible input current?
I have several of those. I would like to record separate channels from my soundboard that's setup using condensor mics. I do not want to spend money on it either.
My attempt is to try to use each header input signal for different channels - if Windows software recognizes header pins as separate input signals. I'd like to solder each 4-pin to a low noise cable with female 1/4" inputs mounted to holes drilled in the PC chassis. Each Input will carry a left or right mono signal.
I expect J6 and J3 are ordinary line inputs that should be compatible with any line-level signal you want to connect to them. J4 is probably internally connected to J3 just to allow for a different type of connector.
I noticed the J4 and J3 connection. I was looking for that answer to confirm my thoughts. I will create a cable with a 1/4" soon and see how it reacts with each set of pins.
