I Cannot get windows 7 to properly install my sound card. Originally I had a Sound Blaster Audigy SE in an ABIT IB9 Mobo. Sound card would not properly install.
I could hear sound but when trying to use Ventrillo the sound card would not be recognized and would not work correctly. It would give me an error while installing the drivers and software for the card. I tried both updated drivers and software from Creative, including some beta stuff. I will post up the error message when I'm off work.
So I went out and purchased a newer card from Bestbuy located here - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Rocketfi...card&cp=1&lp=1
After trying to install the new card I got the same problem when trying to install the drivers and software. So I'm thinking it's a problem with my mobo being slightly old and not supporting Win 7 in some sort.
Both of the sound cards work on the same computer when booted up under XP. I have both OS'es installed on two different HD's.
Any suggestions on what to do to fix the issue, or do I need to bite the bullet and buy a newer Mobo?
