Sound card that will "plug n play" with K7T-Pro2A?

Hey guys. How about sound cards and the K7T-Pro2A? I hear that a lot of people have trouble with SB-live (IRQ conflicts etc.) and the Vortec Aureal chipset. What's left to use? Isn't there any sound card that will "plug n play" with no errors? I don't really care what kind as long as it works.
By the way, I've got the following cards in storage: Diamond MX300 / Diamond Sonic Impact AD3

I just ordered the Pro2A and a SBLive! is on it's way with it. There are minor IRQ conflicts from what I hear, but they are extremely easy to remedy per the threads around here. I think it's safe to go with the SB, then just post any troubles as you run into them here and you'll get quick and easy answers..

Use the onboard audio, there is no pnp problem with it.

Vinnie I've got a K7T pro and I've used an MX400 and now a SB Live Platinum with no problems. Hope that helps.

I got errors when I loaded the SB Live value, saying it couldnt find a devcon.dll(?).

I had to reformat my drive to be able to get the onboard sound going again.

I hope I find the solution so I can use the SB.

Couldn't get my old MX300 to run on a Pro2. Sound would initialize, but crash if you tried a game, Musicmatch, etc. Computer would not restart, just hung. Removed card, enabled onboard sound and everything is OK. This was under a fresh install of W2K Pro.

you guys that have SB running successfully; what are your settings in the BIOS for onchip sound and Legacy Audio?

did you check the box in the SB drivers for Dos drivers? Did you check all the other boxes?

Did you disable everything for the onboard sound before installing the SB?
Please give me all the info you can so I can try to resolve this in my system.

Have a K7T Pro2-A with SB X-gamer 5.1 and 3Com NIC and it all works fine.

when you disable the Legacy Audio, it automatically disables all the choices below it

I disabled both the Legacy Audio and the Onchip sound(?).(I'm at work, so I don't remember exactly the name of the other option in the BIOS)

What about the VIA sound drivers......do they need to be installed along with the SB drivers?

I have a V5 in the AGP, so I have tried the SB Live in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th PCI slots.
I don't remember the IRQ assigned, but I looked at the time, and didn't see any conflicts in the boot screen

When I was installing it, and Windows booted, it gave 2 devices detected; a PCI device, and a Multimedia device.

You have to disable the onboard game port to use an add on sound card(without conflicts).
