Hey how do I take off the singer's voice and put on my own?

Do a search for the karaoke version of the song in question and use that
that way, there will be no vocalists in the song and you can add yourself sounding like an idiot

you could try this- use winamp, and search their plugin page for karaoke plugins. enable and play. if you find it satisfactory you can use winamp to output a wave (i've tried karaoke plugins in the past and found them to not completely remove the vocals, but i think it depends on the song).

you can than use the freeware Audacity to combine your voice wav and the karaoke wav. By itself, Audacity probably can strip the vocals but i thought i'd first suggest winamp b/c it's not alot of work

Sometimes you can find a good enough MIDI of the song depending on what you're looking for, and if the vocal is assigned to an instrument, mute that channel.

There's a trick with stereo wave files where you invert the phase and recombine, and it depends on the vocals being placed dead-center in the stereo field and the instruments all panned a bit (which is often the case). Sorry, don't recall the specifics at the moment. Invert the left channel and combine with the right and vice-versa, or something like that.
