"God's children are not for sale" - damn right they're not, why pay when you can get them for free at your local congregation?

I don't need to see this to know it's going to be just as bad as one of those God's Not Dead by Pure Flix. With a title such as "Sound of Freedom" and memorable quotes like "what would you do if that was your child", and "god's children are not for sale", prominent display of jesus crosses, and a masculine white blonde dude with a southern white blonde wife trying to help poor dark skinned impoverished Honduran kid, how can it not be? The only entertainment would be a drinking bingo game, that's the only way I could see myself watching it, but then I'd probably pass out half way through the movie.

So this is basically a modern take on “the Jews are eating children”??

We really haven’t progressed as much as I thought we did these last thousand years.
Biologically, mentally, we are 100% cavemen.
The only progress made is institutional knowledge.
Destroy or abandon said institutions for "reasons", and enjoy being right back to square one.

Just a small dip into history will readily demonstrate all you need to know about us.

I would expect something called "sound of freedom" to be a documentary about low-altitude flight-training in the air-force (whether USAF or the RAF). Is it not that?

So, I saw the movie last night. It was your standard potboiler "action hero" movie with James Caviezel playing the taciturn cardboard discount All American Clint Eastwood type. The production values were good, so I can see how it would tug at the heartstrings of those so inclined to be moved, cliched plot notwithstanding. I remain amazed at how professional and proficient child actors are.

There was NO discernible partisan political message in the movie, though. At the movie's end, there was a "special message" from Caviezel re: child trafficking but mostly promoting the grass roots "pay it forward" part of the flick. It's clever, brilliant marketing, and marketing seems to be the main thrust of this entire enterprise.

People pay for another person's ticket. This gets them to buy in and believe they are part of some movement for God, justice and the American way, as if watching this Hallmark level pot boiler helps children at risk. Because, make no mistake, child trafficking is a thing.

However, it seems mostly like a cynical way to promote this film. As if, goiing to see it helps fight child trafficking in any real way. Or, as if someone previously thought "child trafficking good" and now gets persuaded that, just maybe, "child trafficking bad."

And, please don't think that I helped their (monetary) cause by going to see the film. On the contrary, I obtained two "pay it forward" essentially free ticktets, which, if anything, sapped that small amount from their propaganda enterprise.

You mean demoncrats are not eating child trafficked babies in pizza parlor basements at the end?

Hey, I saw those pics of Hilary Clinton with a child's bloody foot hanging out of her mouth! The horror, the horror!

It's a Jim Caviezel movie? Well there's your first warning of bullshittery. Not interested. Nothing special acting wise, just another holy roller culture war fan.

He was in that Passions movie, so every self proclaimed christian always acts like he's the next Daniel Day Lewis. He's Kevin Sorbo without the punching himself in the face on twitter.

Well since my Q-niece did go to see the movie, I should tell her that the movie and the movie instigators actually created the movie to raise money for promoting future sex trafficking efforts, not to expose a crime. That topsy turvy upside down explanation would fit right into her Q-world where nothing is as it seems. But if she was convinced that she paid good money to buy a movie ticket that actually went to enable more sex trafficking she'd probably lose her mind. Is it mean to mess with the mentally challenged? Trump created a presidency doing exactly that.

I will say that he was good in The Count of Monte Cristo. Also, having slogged through Dumas's mess of a way-too-long book, this is one instance of the movie being better.

Thanks for the report, Perk.
It did sound like the spin of the delivery was a large part of the package.
It was shot in 2018 and has sat in the can awaiting a release.

My Q niece who seen the movie was disappointed the film failed to blame Biden and Hollywood elite for trafficking. But she did mention the theater was packed. Then I remembered another film of the same caliber, The Passion of the Christ, where Christians also went in droves to see Christ beaten to a bloody pulp. Something that apparently tickled their fancy.

Child exploitation shouldn't be political, but Republicans don't want you focusing on big corporations that use illegal child labor, and evangelicals (also Republicans) don't want you focusing on how 95% of child sexual abuse happens in a religious setting. So they tell you that Democrats are the human traffickers and Trans folks are the groomers and the absolute dumbest humans among us lap it up with zero critical thought.
AMEN. Red states continue to lower the age requirements for work creating an incentive for undocumented minors. Now they want to pivot and blame Biden. Saw a link to Project Veritas which means it loses credibility.

If they have honest evidence of the federal government's involvement in child trafficking let's hear it. Otherwise just more Benghazi, Kenyan birth certificate, Joe Biden taking bribes from foreign countries, gay grooming pizza parlors, ACORN. Shall I keep going???

It's ok, those Q people have been constantly disappointed by the ever changing deadlines and goal posts. I can't count how many times the storm was supposed to happen, or how many times that Hillary had finally been executed in gitmo.

A bad movie with subpar acting is still a bad movie with subpar acting, no matter what the message. Can't believe Mira Sorvino was involved in that.

Dad Paul must be rolling in his grave.

Not the kind of movie I'd see in a theater, I only see epic productions on a big screen. This Friday I am being forced to see Mission Impossible with the wife, and Oppenheimer will be out too. Remember kids, the partner you chose in life is one of the biggest life changing decisions you can make, so if you meet a woman that likes Tom Cruise and George Clooney, run!

he was always one of those right wing loonies fyi. he was able to keep his mouth shut until he couldn't. I found some random video on youtube with less than a few hundred views a few evenings ago and midway of this right wing nut job's ranting I realized it was none other than mel gibson. I'd not seen him in film for so long he was barely recognizable.

It's an article about how someone made a joke tweet about being told to put a nano-bot containing solution in drinks for patrons of the Sound of Freedom movie and the resultant chortling and jimmies being rustled for AMC meme stockholders.
