I have a Sound Blaster X Fi Platinum and some Logitech z5500. I remember all the discussions about the Nforce 4 doing "dolby digital on the fly" back in the day. My dad needs speakers and has Nforce 4 working on windows 7 (not sure if the drivers even exist for windows 7.)
My audio cable is optical and plugs into the front of the computer. Ugh The z5500 supports coax but the cable doesn't fit on the back (the SPDif is too small.)
The Nforce 750 board has "Hd audio."
Should I even be using the creative board? should I upgrade? Have they figured out the "dolby digital on the fly" with video games? Is my motherboard sound good enough and can I get an adapter?
