here's my setup and my problem:
Asus MB with realtek ac97 onboard sound(not being used)
Sound Blaster Audigy in PCI (currently connected to speakers)
Altec Lansing Digital 4.1 speaker (540z i think) old speakers (1 green connection, 1 black)
Nexus LEXA case (has front headphone/mic plugs)
Problems:
Front Sound/Mic connection cabling doesnt reach motherboards front sound connectors... it has to stretch across all of my PCI slots, including video
Does anyone know of a possible solution for this problem?
Cannot connect a headphone/mic to Sound Blaster Audigy because there is only 1 black hole, and therefore kills all my digital audio when I plug in the headphones.
Plus it's in the back and really annoying to get to.
What should I do??
I was thinking new speakers to match the Realtek ac97 since its probably nicer than the ancient soundcard.
Or a newer soundcard
(or both)
But I am not sure if that would fix my problem with the mic/headphones problem.
