Soundblaster 5.1 using XP

Maybe one of you guys could help me with this.I just upgraded my system:
Abit KG7-Raid
Athlon 1600 XP
512 Crucial PC2100 DDR
W.D. 40 G 7200 RPM
Plextor 12/10/32 CDRW
Pioneer 16XDVD/40X CD
Creative Soundblaster 5.1 Platinum
Abit Siluro T400
Windows XP
I am having a problem with the soundblaster card.Everytime I play music I keep hearing a crackle or the music stutters.On my old board and OS(Win ME),I was able to disable the SB16 emulation and that was it.Everything ran great.With this upgrade,I cant find the SB Emulation with the XP drivers.Does anybody know a fix for this?

I had the same problem with my Audigy Platinum.

I looked at Windows Update, and there is an update that is supposed to 'fix' this. Also try getting new drivers from creative.

OR

What I did was just lower the main volume of XP by a ton....and upped the volume of my speakers instead. My main volume for XP is around 40%.


I have a question for you. Does your Live Drive work? I've never owned one till now...and can't seem to get it to work. Is it supposed to be recognized in windows as something special? I can't seem to get mine to work =P.

About the Live Drive.........To tell you the truth,I really never got around to trying it out.I have a set of electronic drums,and I was going to use the midi inputson it but I did some renovations on my house and the drums are currently packed away,so I just forgot about it.Eventually I will get around to it.Sorry.
As far as the other problem I will try it and let you know.

I lowered the master volume to about 40% and i'm still getting the stuttering.I''m at a loss.
