soundblaster wont work

built a new system.... asus cuv4x mobo, pIII 866, prophet 2 gts 64mb ddr, ibm 7200 rpm hd, viewsonic 19 inch, d-link ethernet card, works great when i put in the aureal vortex 4500 sound card. when i put in my sound blaster live it wont work, it starts to load drivers at boot up then i get fatal blue screen error.... tried two new soundblaster live cards same thing, tried latest drivers for sound blaster live no go. tried every pci slot same thing... ANYONE KNOW WHATS GOING ON..... i WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY SOUNDBLASTER BACK.

In BIOS try enabling (Memory hole) this should help, if not make sure onboard sound is disabled.

Just get the latest drivers (liveware3). It should fix your problems. Live drivers that ship with the card (pre-liveware3) give you blue screens on systems faster than 600Mhz. It's a known issue.

thats exactly what was happening to my p700@933 machine, new driver fixed the problem ...
