I am selling my car on autotrader (this is not the scam part),

I currently have two individuals that are interested in purchasing my bravada for 13,750. They both contacted me around the same time and asked for further information. I send pics and info about the truck to both prospective buyers and they both respond with pretty much the same email:

Dear Adams,
Thanks for your prompt reply. After your mail I got in touch with my client on the details of your reply to our enquiry on the vehicles condition and it is satifactory to him.
He really commended your vehicle from its features in the Autotrader advert and has instructed me to carry on the transaction at the price of $13,750 without negotiating further, since the vehicle is still for sale and in good condition as described by the advert.
I am therefore happy to tell you that I have concluded with my client and he has instructed me to carry on with the transaction, He said I should let you know that payment will get to you in a cashiers check of $21,300 which is a refund payment of a cancelled order earlier made by him.
Due to companys policy this payment has to be made out in this amount to you ,because company policy only allows a refund payment on one cashiers check, this amount is expected to in part cover both the shipping and any other expences that might accrue in the course of this transaction ,so you are required to deduct the cost of your vehicle which is $13,750 when payment gets to you and refund balance which is $7,550 to my client's shipper, who will come for inspection/pickup for him to be able to offset shipping & tax charges, and other cosmetic repair costs.
After payment has reached you and balance sent to shipper, the shipper's agent will come for inspection, pick up (of vehicle & signing of title papers), make some cosmetic touches make cosmetic touches if necessary before driving to then drive to a prepaid shipper for the vehicle to be shipped to my customer.
Confirm this and forward your LEGAL NAMES, ADDRESS and PHONE NUMBER for payment to be made out to you as soon as possible.
All other information needed in completion of this transaction will be given to you in due course.
Your honesty, understanding and co-operation will be highly appreciated. ,

Best regards....

does any one else find paying with a cashier's check which is a 'refund payment of a cancelled order earlier made by him', especially since two separate independent people suggested to pay this way?

Cliffs:

1. i am selling my truck
2. two people want to buy the truck
3. both people want to pay with a cashier's check that is "refund payment of a cancelled order earlier made by him"
4. is this a scam?

p.s. if they are both legit, how about would you decide who get to buy it?

Uhh, it's so obviously a scam, and it's pretty common.

Delete the e-mails and disregard.

as soon as you see "Refund" , ie they are going to pay you more than the selling price , that flags it as a scam

The first hint of a scam is when the person responding to your add is buying it for their client.

out of all the "I'm gonna send $XXX more and you refund me the diff", this one has the best grammar thus far. Of course it's still full of errors, but it's 10x more coherent than the nigerian ones or what have you.
