How do these compare to the CambridgeSoundworks PCWorks speakers that Outpost.com had on sale for $19.99 a couple of weeks ago?

these a good speakers for $30 dollars. i don't care about the wattage or anything like that. they are pretty good quality. i have recently been annoyed by people wanting to know in-detail specs about cheap speakers.... they are cheap, and they sound good, so if you need cheap speakers and don't mind them being black, these are for you

These speakers are awesome for the price. Extremely small, loud, and have a ton of bass.

The only downside is that they are really lacking in midrange, which can be cured with certain soundcards, winamp, or Windows Media Player 8 (and 7.1 maybe?).

Wall mount these with a black flat panel monitor, and you've got almost nothing on your desktop.

OH yeah, this is a great deal!!! I got in on it last time and these speakers take up hardly any room. I have them complementing my 15" dell LCD monitor, which looks very futuristic. The bass is pretty clean, unless you turn it up too loud. But if you just want some good speakers at a very decent price, don't miss out on this one. Go for it!!!

if you just want something for a small office or dorm room, this is it, the best $30 speaker you can get. very small and it's come in black and stylish. oh, it you crank it up all the way, you can definitely feel the bass and annoy people around you.

I can't believe how loud this little baby can get. It was the best $30 spent I've had in a long time. The shipping is also excellent at this site. BTW, it's not refurbished. The packaging is also excellent

<< How do these compare to the CambridgeSoundworks PCWorks speakers that Outpost.com had on sale for $19.99 a couple of weeks ago? >>

i bought these the last time around and they are better than the PCWorks. i have the Fourpoint PCWorks which i got for $50 bout 2 years ago and the bass on the slim 500 is a lot more powerful. the two satellites put out more volume too.

<< do they look refurbished? (it's possible u won't notice it tho) >>

from what i can tell, they are not refurbs. it comes in a retail box and nothing on the box of speakers say refurb. all the pieces look brand new so i doubt they're refurbs.

bottom line, great speakers and for this price, it's a no brainer.

The sub puts out 17 watts and that sats but out a whopping 6 watts bith with a 10% THD seems to me these arent that great of a speaker for the main PC maybe the work puter.....10%thd is just way to much distortion prolly sound like a rain storm when there on and the sub only hits down to 38hz. Just my 2 cents Also appears to be about the going price there like 49 on pricewatch.....

LOL, you've obivously don't have alot of experience w/ Cambridge Soundworks speakers. The DTT2500 and DTT3500 are rated at 10% THD, but sound awesome. While, I'm no audio expert, those number shouldn't be taken by themselves. Take a listen to these or PC Works, and you'll be pleasantly surprised

I ordered these speakers last time and I'll agree they are are great deal for 30 bucks. They are even nice for 50 bucks. There is one problem that keeps me from re-ordering again though. I can not getting the shipping price I got last time which was 3.95 ground, 5.95 2day, and 7.95 next day. Now it is ~9, ~16, ~22 for the shipping prices. When I read their shipping policy they list shipping charges by weight now. But when I try to check out, they don't even follow their own shipping policies it seems. Oh well, if anybody experiences the same problem, let me know too. Or if somebody gets it to work I will try again and hopefully I'll be able to get these speakers as gifts to friends
