Soyo 24" back for $300 + tax at OfficeMax week of 1/27

So, I canceled my newegg order and got this display and WOW IS IT NICE.

Thumbs up to Soyo (until this thing breaks that is lol).

Just thought I'd mention it.

update: It's bright; and in turning the brightness down this seems to be one of the displays that adjusts contrast as well to lower brightness. So the backlight doesn't get less bright (wish it would); instead you lose the really dark colors to black. Found 2 stuck pixels-- only a problem when the screen is black. They seem to function normally when anything but black is displayed.

Got today; very nice monitor! Very bright, as mentioned. No problems, no bum pixels.

I think the best way to get the brightness lower it is to set the contrast to 100 and the brightness to about 50 and then user the USER color control and set the colors to around 17 (you will probably want red a little higher then the others since this monitor is calibrated to not have enough red from the factory).

it seemed like earlier versions had many QC problems. I purchased mine on BF and haven't had a single issue. I am considering selling my 19" Dell LCD (TN) and buying another Soyo.

Limited connectivity options may be a concern for some users but I figured for $250 the Soyo is a steal.

Sorry it was $250 on Black Friday but there are $30 coupons out there for a price of $270.

Definitely not a TN panel. Viewing angles horizontally and vertically are excellent right out of the box for me. I've been using this 24" monitor for two months now and it has definitely been an excellent monitor.

I bit the bullet and bought one of these a couple of hours ago. I just got it set up. I'm about to watch a DVD on it but so far the picture looks pretty good.

I just hate all the plastic and the fact that my video card won't support a second monitor, but all in all not bad so far.

It is not a TN panel, but the vertical viewing angles from above are not that great, but are better from below. Only S-IPS screens have both great horizontal and vertical viewing angles.

The colors on my Soyo were a little off out-of-the-box but I applied a color profile I found online that made it look better.
