YES! I have that!

I thought it was my computer, like the computer wasn't giving the system enough power to boot. I guess I should have tested by plugging in another monitor without rebooting.

I had that when I first bought my monitor (back in September) but it went away. TO makeit go away in the beginning I hooked it up with the RGB cable instead of the DVI cable. After that, it started up fine with the DVI cable.

Awesome monitor.

Note: I had the same problem with a 28" Hanns-G LCD as well, using a different video card, so I don't think the problem is unique to this LCD, and the problem has gone away both times for me.

Anyone else having a problem with their screen suddenly going black for a second or two? Mine started doing it on day two - be in the middle of something, happens more with games, and suddenly everything is black, just one to two seconds, then it goes back to normal. Happens about every 3-5 minutes while gaming, hardly at all when on the internet or doing actual work.

My 930b Samsung did that and I sent it back under warranty. They sent me refurbished units and have been working fine ever since.

Hmmm you know what I have had this. Didn't even think that it could have been the monitor though. Mine doesn't do it every 3-5 minutes though. I'll have to pay more attention.

Can you tell us about your replacement experience after that long of a time period. Were you able to use the OM extended warranty to get them to replace it with a new one or did you have to return it to SOYO? IIRC the OM extended warranty only comes into play after the first year of manufacturers warranty except for failures due to power.

Good suggestion. Some of the early problems were due to the cheap/defective DVI cable that came with the monitor.

Did you have to go through Soyo first within that 5 month time frame?

My understanding is that the OM warranty does not come into play until after the Soyo warranty has expired.

I went through SOYO with an average amount of hassle because I hadn't registered it earlier. If you're buying this monitor make sure you register it at http://www.soyo.com/content/Product_Registration/106 and make sure you keep your receipt in case you need to RMA it.

The other display hasn't had any problems but if you buy this without a warranty I really do think there is a substantial chance you will be looking at a fairly high risk cost over the next several years.

Officemax is selling the Soyo 24" monitor for 299.99 again. Starting 1/27/08. Seems like they sell it at this price every other week.

I just picked up mine, and have zero problems

No humming noises, no dead pixels.

Very nice monitor for the price!

Has anyone been able to order this LCD via OfficeMax's website? I can't seem to checkout as I keep getting the error " In order to checkout, please view your shopping cart to remove items that cannot be ordered."

I only have the monitor in my cart, no codes used, so not sure what the problem is. The closest B&M store is 50 miles away.

They replaced it but I'm not sure whether the replacement unit was new or refurbished. I shipped them one with an August manufacture date and the one I got back had a September date.
