Soyo Dragon+ Sound problem

Hi everybody,

I need your help. I just installed my Soyo Dragon plus. Everything works like a charm except for the C-Media onboard sound. My Computer finds the new hardware, but when i install the drivers i get an error saying "An error has occured installing this device. The data is invalid." Ive tryed the driver on the CD, ive downloaded the same driver, ive downloaded the new C-Media driver. Ive tryed every driver i could find. They all come up with the same response.

Here are some system specs:
Athlon XP 1900+
Soyo Dragon +
512DDR2400
RAID
Leadtek Ti200
Win XP Pro.

This might be a no brainer, but are you positive that you've plugged in the cable from the digital i/o bracket to the motherboard correctly? Pin #1 on the cable's connector is the red striped one, and the connector will have a little triangle on the side where pin #1 is. Make sure this pin#1 lines up with the pin #1 on the motherboard. Sorry if you've already done this.

I have no other sound card installed. There are no PCI cards installed in my machine. Ive also tryed every cable config i could think of. And yes, my onboard sound is enabled.

I made sure to load the drivers from the CD, my worked perfectly fine. It might be something small.

I loaded drivers from everywhere. They all come up with the same error. "invalid data". Is there anything special you have to do to install the card? I assume just plug it in. My computer seems to find it alright, it just wont install the drivers.

have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers, might be a long shot but couldn't hurt.

Is the onboard sound a worthy replacement for the Santa Cruz or should I disable it?
