Ok I have tried everything I can think of. The system won't recognize both cd-roms. I think the problem is in using IDE 3 or IDE 4. The manual states somthing about installing promise ultra family drivers, but the manual states " when into system install screen f6 then s". When into??? When into what. I tried to e-mail soyo but no response. Hours of fun trying to figure this out ( Ok all yo Tuesday, December 18, 2001 12:09 PM

Enable raid in the BIOS and then when you are booting into windows it should find your extra promise ide controller and ask you for drivers. Go to your Soyo cd and select the windows 2000 ultra family drivers(the path to them is in the manual somewhere and they work fine on win xp) and install them.

Hope this helps.

Your BIOS wont recognize the cd or your operating system wont recognize cd? If its your operating system Do you have clone cd installed? if so remove it and reinstalled the latest clonecd. If its your BIOS then check ur master and slave settings. Also put cd oh secondary IDE and see if the Bios will recognize it.

In addition make sure you have the jumper on the board to set to use it as regular IDE devices and enable Raid in the BIOS even though you are using it as IDE.

Good luck - Mike

Just as an aside....Windows XP includes a driver for the Ultra setting of the onboard raid controller (no Soyo cd file necessary)....just make sure raid is enabled in the bios.
