I disagree, CMV, I think the whole Soyo rebate situation was pretty much a scam. In my opinion, Soyo was doing poorly and wanted to sell their business (or at least the motherboard line). They put a number of motherboards on the market under free after rebate, or nearly so, deals. All of sudden Soyo "sells" much more product than they did in the past. This increased revenue flow, and market share, would make them much more appealing to a prospective purchaser, especially if the deal could be set up so that the new owner is not legally liable for the rebates.
That hasn't happened here (yet) because no buyer showed up. Soyo has legal liability for an awful lot of rebates and nearly every "sale" is generating huge losses due to the rebate obligation. Sooner or later this house of cards will collapse.
To those of you still owed rebates from Soyo, I say keep pushing at your efforts to get the rebate but if you do end up getting stung, well you learned a life lesson pretty cheaply. Pyramid schemes can't go on forever.
