I had a brand new Soyo Topaz MT-GW-DYLM24D6 LCD in storage that I just connected to my system with a Geforce 9600 GSO video card on a WIN 7 OS and videos are being shown with patchy colors. Is there an easy fix for this? I know this is an old display and the system recognizes it as a Generic PNP, apparently there are no Win7 drivers for this monitor. Am I just out of luck trying to use this monitor? I've tried the monitor settings and the video card settings.

Those screens were notorious for having the power supply fail due to bad caps. They probably swelled up while in storage. You can get a kit to fix it on ebay for pretty cheap but you need to be pretty handy with a soldering iron.

As Yuriman already stated, the Soyo Topaz S was a great LCD with a notoriously badly designed PSU. I own two and have already bought replacement PSUs from TaoBao (with great difficulty I might add) a few years ago.

No idea how hard they are to procure these days, but I'd guess the longer it takes you to find out yours is bad, the harder and pricier it will be to replace.

The display looks fine for most use except videos where the images look like a topographic map, photos do look accurate for the most part. I did read about the PSU problem with these monitors. I don't have a user manual, but I did figure out how to use the menu controlled by the buttons on the side, not sure what the mode and auto buttons do.

I am now noticing an orange tint that seems to be pervasive in all graphics and is the background color when booting. Is this an indication of a failing PSU?

I don't think so sounds more like you're using a DVI->VGA converter and one of the pins is disconnected.
