SP2 and VIA 4.26

Is any one running both and knows if it fixed the IDE to SCSI problem? I have the SP2 but don't want to install the VIA until I know for sure it will work because downtime is very critical to me and don't want any unnecessary downtime.

I'm running 4.26 with SP1. I'm not sure that drives showing as SCSI is actually a problem. Initially, I like others had problems with my CD burner, but this was fixed by downloading the latest (quite recent) update to Easy CD Creator (4.03) and Direct CD (3.03).

I wouldn't claim that 4.26 busmasters are completely stable though.

I think that there are two problems with Win2K and ATA-100 (although I'm open to correction). Firstly, it doesn't recognise a UDMA-5 drive. Secondly, after installing the hot fix that corrects this (which is consolidated into SP2), you need another fix to be able to boot your system rather than re-installing Win2K from scratch (although the recovery console may get around this - I haven't verified it yet).

I have 4.26 with sp1. I have no problems and yes it does display them as scsi drives.

I was running the latest RC for SP2 and it didn't fix the SCSI problems with the 4n1. I was also getting major registry and files problems when running that new IDE busmaster driver. It's like the drives were shutting off before Win2k could close all the files properly so I was left with unusable files.

I use the 4.26's with SP1 and I have no problems. They are faster than the 4.24 that's for sure.

I think VIA really made a mess on the 4.26's.

i running the 4.26's and SP2 but the busemaster drivers from soltek's site(they are newer). Everything is running just peachy
