All the people who had troubles with SP2 (myself included) were the ones who were running Classic or SP1 for a long time and then installed SP2.
It runs MUCH better if you do a clean install and then put SP2 on right away. Preferably from the 276MB install file, before you ever let your computer get online.
You can let the security center run completely in the background and you dont have to worry about it. It also adds improved support for SATA drives and large hard drives with any interface.
Anyway, it's fine. A number of people whined about it breaking their ****** when it first came out, but that was mostly due to them applying SP2 to an old, mangled installation of SP1 or worse, the original version.
