Ordered two. No shipping, no tax (I'm in Florida) for a total of $43.98

If / when they arrive I will check back and answer any questions about noise, build quality, condition, specs, etc.

Ditto on this question. I have Enermax (manually adjustable fan) and Thermaltake powersupplies. They are quiet enough that you can't hear them over the noise of other components (case fans, video card fans, HD spinning). Comments on noise appreciated.

Be careful in deaing with this company (3 B Tech). Although they have a decent lifetime rating at ResellersRatings, their recent history is lower. In reading the recent reviews, they seem to sell refurbs as new or OEM. Getting refunds or replacements seems next to impossible. I'm sure there are two sides to every story so all I'm saying is just be careful.

Sparkle makes excellent Power Supplies; reliable and consistant. As to noise, I'd call them average; neither quiet nor overly noisy. Most models do come with the 12v P4 connection but I would confirm this before ordering.

Couple of things to watch out for though. Openlinx has a reseller rating of 2.50 / 10, which is pretty low. Second, the one at openlinx is the ATX series while OP's deal was an FSP300. I think the FSP series is supposed to be better.

Here's an ancient thread that talks about a seperate deal on this Sparkle. That deal is long dead but it has some more info about it. Most people seem pleased with them after they got them.

Crap, my cut and paste failed to take, but if you search the archives in hot deals for Sparkle you can find it.

I second that! I'm using 3 Fortrons on 3 P4 2.6C for over a year now and there are rock solid. The noise is rated at 21db and i got them from Directron
Here is a review from Tom's Hardware
my $0.2

I am not sure how to rate the noise, but it does not seem as loud as some other power supplies I have had.

Fortron powersupplies are VERY quiet, they're almost inaudible if your case cooling is decent.

If you have no other case fans and your CPU is very warm the PSU will up it's speed a bit and won't be as quiet.

And yes it works with P4s.

don't get a power supply with a sleeve bearing fan unless you want it to explode when the fan dies in a year or two.

This is a Decent power supply. Above average. But, don't expect to run 3 hard drives with this one. If your going to Over Clock and load you system up you better get a 350-400Watt unit. These are Quiet...Didn't have any problems with them running K7S5A AMD Mother Boards with this unit.

IIRC, these units are those with 180W combined 3V + 5V rating. Great replacement for a P3 or lower Athlon system, or more modern system with modest video card, or a P4 with very few hard drives. It's not as good as their current-gen 300W models though, and as already mentioned, watch out for those Yate Loon sleeve-bearing fans. Generally the better Sparkles have one of two fans in them, either NMB (used to be blue label with wide white stripe in the middle but now just a thin white stripe on black plastic) or Nidec, which are solid light blue or green and grey (less common on PSU).

If you're only willing to spend $22 this may be as good as it gets (barring a gamble on Newegg refurbs).

I have the power supply Mawashi posted above. My XP1700+ is o/c to just under 2000+ levels. I also have two cd drives (burner and regular drive), a GeForce3 Ti200 (128mb version) and get this... 4 hard drives. (30/40/40/120)

No problems at all

I'm all confused now. Is the PSU from the original post the same one that people are talking about from Directron/Tom's Hardware review? The picture from Directron is significantly different from the picture at 3btech (grill is different, different vent holes on top, one has on/off switch the other doesn't).
