Sparq cartridges for $3 each

These are great deal if you know what it is and still uses them. I bought a 3-pack for $90 a year ago. With my 12X burnproof CDRW and cable modem, I haven't use my drive for a long time now.

You want to know what the funniest thing is. I just bought two of these drives for $10.00 and I don't even know what to do with them. I have a Plextor 16x Burner and I just don't need them. If you want them PM me.

I've owned 3 Syquest drives. An internal 130MB drive, internal 1GB Sparq and external 1GB Sparq. They were good for scratch space, but man, the Sparq drives broke if you looked at them the wrong way. No wonder Iomega put them out of business. Basically, if you have a need for a Zip drive, then these drives might be of value. But who needs a Zip drive? I could buy a 1GB hard drive for about the same price as this crappy medium.

whizbang, do you mean these drives break down easily? Even @ $29.95 on that site, it still seems like a good deal. I'm interested. but not sure about the "sparq drives broke if you looked at them the wrong way" part. please explain,

Stay away from the Sparq drive it is utter crap. I had two of them. Both could not read disks when I tried to use it a month or two later.

If I could choose a free sparq drive and a floppy drive I'd take teh floppy at least I know it would work 5 minutes later

DO NOT BUY A SPARQ DRIVE!! It will break almost guaranteed. If I had to choose between a free SPARQ drive and a quick slap to the face, I'd take the slap. At least the pain and suffering would end quicker.

So true about the SparQ.
I had one a couple of years back. Worked for a solid 6 months then came the "click of death" where you can hear the needle boucing inside the unit.

I should have purchased a CD-R instead considering I spent over $300 + for the unit and the cartriages.

and to believe that PC World recommended this product at one point. Good thing I went with cdr instead of this. Even though my first burner was only a paltry 4x, it got the job done. But I know how u SparQ owner feel. B4 I got the burner, i had this thing known as a tape drive. Those relics from the past still gives me nightmare, especially when i hear it spin up and run though the tape, searching for the location of the data, rewind, searching for the location of the data, rewind....
