Good episode, fitting end to Crixus. However, what the fuck was up with the Caesar rape scene? Is that based on anything historically?

But you know his daddy will be killing him soon hopefully.
The preview showed Caesar going to Spartacus and saying that he'll free 500 of their captured people (during the battle against Crixus) if Spartacus helps him kill the son.

A little off-topic, but is anyone else planning on watching the premiere of that DaVinci's Demons show that follows Spartacus?
Thank God I've gotten into Game of Thrones or I'd have nothing left... Has GoT ep. 3-03 made it to On Demand yet?
DaVinci's Demons a prequel to DaVinci code?

Well I am sure it ends for spartacus in one way or another.
this episode was awesome. nice end credits sequence too (good to see andy in there to finish it off).
Amazing show. I'm sad to see it end, but glad it had a story to tell and told it. I try to tell people how amazing this show is. Many don't 'get' it. They just see the overwhelming gore and think '300'. Perhaps it takes time, but the way this story developed from a Gladiator type story, to an epic struggle of futility. This is absolutely one of my favorite shows of all time.
I guess I'm a little surprised to see it end the way it did. I half-expected a victory for Spartacus and his people, even if just to get away. I didn't expect Gannicus to die at all. He seemed unbeatable to me. Almost more so than Spartacus.
hereIn real life Spartacus' body was never found. Gannicus was also surprising, I agree. In real life Gannicus & Castus, (A Roman, but portrayed as the black pirate that stayed behind) broke off form Spartacus, possibly to create a diversion and died in a battle with a portion of Crasus' army.
I agree, probably one of my top 3, if not my absolute favorite series of all time.
