The game is great, but it's for people with too much time IMO. It feels like Civ 5 or GalCiv I or II, even though it's not the same type of a game.
Yeah, I find myself farming a lot in the high end zones for credit (to buy schematics) and for goons (to bribe gate guardS) because my ship isn't strong enough to blast through hammerhead gate guards.
There has to be a way to mine res faster...
Please note: You cannot activate this on Steam through GMG anymore.
They tell you how in the tutorial.
There's also an option in the settings to allow SPAZ to continue running without locking to main menu when you Alt+Tab out. This means your mining team can work along and you can do something productive on Anandtech
I've been making shopping trips but it still takes a while to fill out. I'll look at that option in settings though...
I have a few questions that are bugging me.
1. I see some indications of overdrive (speed boost at cost of energy?). I haven't been able to find any key to initiate it. Does it exist?
2. How do I go about finding the mothership upgrades? Are they plot driven or purchaseable at bases like the normal techs?
3. On the crosshair, what does the green balls at the bottom indicate? On a tier 3 ship I had 1, on my tier 4 it shows 2 out of 5 possible.

I've resorted to simply blowing up space stations now and not even worrying about shopping.
Smash and grab technique.
Since I'm in zombie territory They tie up the faction fighter's and sometimes even the base defenses. The rest is history.

it's some weird percentage of how much cargo you're carrying i think
finished the normal mode with a full loadout of particle cannons on... well pretty much every ship. Had a hammerhead loaded out with 2 triple mounts x 3 heavy particle cannons and 2 medium ones, never really ran out of reactor juice. Is that normal?...
Also tried the fusion beams for a little bit. I like the range much better on the particle cannons though. Maybe if i had more subsystem research...
Sounds normal to me. Cannons are OP.
Fusion Beam length is not increase by subsystem tech. Subsystem beam length affects tractor beams and point defense guns only iirc.
hooookay. Time to respec... lol.
Seems like the best way to go through the game is to use beams with leecher until you can get particle cannons, then ez-mode your way through everything?
The particle cannon is so strong its ridiculous. With a few upgrades you have virtually no reload time!
