Looks like Null Modem and sharing software. You could most likely get similar software as shareware/freeware and buy null modem for 5.00 from Radio Shack.

Does anyone know what Dell's policy is if I purchased a laptop a couple of days ago and now it is cheaper, or offering free items like the Intellimover? Will they add the intellimover to my package and credit the difference in price? Today they are offering an extra $50 off, and the system is about $25 cheaper.

As noted, you have the 30 day guarantee. If they won't make the adjustment, you can threaten to send it back. Folks in other threads have talked about getting $100 or more in credits for keeping a system instead of sending it back. Dell really doesn't want to get a laptop back and then have to resell it as a refurb.

I got peeved at them in October because they screwed me on shipping my Sony digital camera, and it came over a week late. I threatened to just send it back and got a $50 credit.

Thanks for your help. I spoke to a Dell CSR last evening and although she was not familiar with any price protection or 30 day satisfaction guarantee, she took an extra $50 off for me!

Uh...you should have gotten both the $50 off and the $25 off the price. B/c if you returned and rebought...you would get that new price....also part of the reason people get more than the difference as well..b/c they don't just price match...they threaten to send back..and get an additional amount or items back....ALTHOUGH, they have been known to give the difference in 'credit' good at dell.com for accessories and b.s. So go ahead and shop what you may want before hand and say..I want 'X' and it's $15 more than they are offering...and depending on the CSR they'll give it to you just to get you off their back and no return.
