I picked these up locally when they had this deal a month ago or so. The store near me was only giving out 2 per customer, but that's up to each Officemax store. So I had someone else go in and get me another 2 sticks. 1GB for $40 not bad

I did the same. I made sure that I got the sticks that had PC2700 chips. Take a magnifying glass with you and ask to see a selection of sticks. At least get sticks that have the same brand of chips on them.

On a sidenote, I just looked at a PNY Optima 512MB PC2700 module I bought a few weeks ago, and the board actually has the name SpecTek on it. (It uses Samsung chips.)
So let's see... Micron owns SpecTek, SpecTek uses Samsung chips, and PNY sells SpecTek modules. Apparently, there's a lot going on in the memory industry.
