Question Speculation: RDNA3 + CDNA2 Architectures Thread

Man I have been dying to make this one for a while now.

First rumours for RDNA3 are here so new thread time!

All RDOA3 (N5) issues are down to core WGP implementation.

Are they bothering to fix it for N32 or are they just working on RDNA 4 and it is what it is?

There are so many other reasons for it to be delayed (inventory is my guess). I doubt fixing it is one if they have no problem shipping N31 as it is.

The part taped out eons ago and they're still keeping it in the torture dungeon (the likes of which you've seen in that GN video) so that's an easy guess, isn't it?

Economic reasons can be only guess for the hold up then if as you say it taped out eons ago.

Either way they have a whole bunch of RDNA3 APUs coming next year so they're on a deadline.

N21 parts keep showing up here in the states on sale for lower and lower prices. That's my theory: AMD seems to have many N21 to sell to card partners. And cheap N32 being available in 1H2023 would make problems with that.
Do you have any insight into that?

They're only cranking it because N32 is in le dungeon.
Same reason why AMD laptop offerings evaporated; they have half the product stack missing.

Yea they didn't do as well as hoped and are now desperate to get on track before Strix parts land.

There's good reason for that, because OEMs mostly are rejecting Phoenix because of the price.

That didn't happen also, AMD is fairly aggressive on APU pricing as far as RMB/PHX go, at least for their tier1 circle (Lenovo/HP/whatever).

Certainly doesn't look like it. It looks more like 80%+ is Barcelo with some smattering of Rembrandt and Dragon Range (which the one die is probably decently cheaper than Phoenix)

Of course, DDR4 is very cheap (and why a solid chunk of RMB/PHX designs are LPDDR5).
Also the reason why Genoa ramp was hella slow (check those DDR5 RDIMM prices jesus).

Is this the beginning of a much needed competitive response from AMD? We will find out.

I am tempted to purchase one, but I blew my budget on PC hardware already. I ordered a 7950X3D because of the $557 price and an extra $100 discount I had.

EDIT: $799 is what I consider to be a fair price for the XTX and $699 is what I consider to be a fair price for the XT.

Something always wrong missing, next gent always bearing the hopes everything will be right.

In this particular case, any changes that AMD deliberated decided to NOT put more cards in the market because the market deflated after is recent peak, and prioritizing/forcing the selling of more expensive cards to compensate?

RDNA2 was pretty good. If RDNA3 were as competitive, I don't think people would complain. RDNA3 is mostly a disappointment though.

Whenever you see N32 crawl out of the dungeon, which I don't really know when anymore since they've missed all the launch windows for it, both DT and mobile.

Performance might be lower than expected, but it's $800 for raster performance that's basically equal to a 4080 for the price of a 4070 Ti. If that's around your budget, you won't find anything faster than it.
