Would you really hold the price of a 2950X at 1260 if a 3850X was at 760? [and you gotta believe that 3700X = 8C, 3800X = 12C and 3850X = 16C]
... and the price per core drops from 63/core for 3700X to 57/core for 3800X to 47.5/core for 3850X.

Not sure I'm ready to believe that leak just yet
Probably has more to do with you misaligning SKUs with their rumoured core count; 3700X is expected to be 12c, 3800X and 3850X being 16c, with the 8c being the 3600X - unless you're expecting AMD to price their 8c as if they were Intel.

taking that 5.1 ghz $500 cpu * 0.74=$370 ? for 16 cores ? Is that socket AM4 ?

That’s what I’m watching. I thought that was a 12 core.

Also I’m still really tempted to do a 2600x system and keep my fingers crossed an X470 will behave well with these or eBay the 2600x & motherboard in 2020 and start new.
PC stuff is so fun & so irritating

The 3300G with Navi makes the list highly suspect. Conidering AMD released picasso as 3000 series mobile I wouldn't be surprised, if the 7nm desktop ends up as 4xxx series

I expect the per core price to be roughly the same. And that's not a bad deal. I don't need a unicorn.

Considering the cores are improved as well aside the node change the per core price being the same should be a very good deal. But I bet in the end the achievable frequency will still be the biggest deal for the public response.

These rumors are just great. if they hold out to be true, then AMD is pushing yet another improvement in core count in processors. This of course pushes apps to use more threads. And this also means that Intel's 10th gen of Core processors will have more cores as well.

The leak only contains prices it did not confirm or disprove any core count, frequencies or TDP.
And since it's still a long time before release a price now has little value.

I agree that it's probably fake but you have to think AMD will at some point release Picasso desktop APUs.

Maybe not. These CPU's are a lot more important to the mobile market and releasing a new slightly higher clocked for bottom dollar price CPU for the desktops might not make sense. My guess is mobile sales dip or the have a big over run they will finally get around to making a couple sku's otherwise it's smart to just wait till the next big APU where they could have a larger jump in performance.

Didn't AMD explicitly state that the AM4 chiplet-based design would not include a GPU chiplet in this generation?

No AMD said Matisse would not be have an APU configuration. Since Matisse is the substrate configuration, you can take this two ways. One the APU uses a different substrate and therefore they can have a chiplet config and not be lying. Or two that there will not be a chiplet APU this gen.

I mean at this point I think it's like 50/50. Could go either way.

how many cores will the 3300G and 3600G have? 4/4 and 4/8? 6/12 and 8/16?

6 and 8 respectively. But keep in mind out of all of the Rumors those are the most suspect and the rumors have those as being a late 2019 release. Well after the big Ryzen 3rd gen launch.
