AMD never officially mentioned Ryzen comes before Rome. In the past Lisa Su specifically said Rome comes first, but it's possible that Ryzen gets the first public release while Rome is probably already sold and being shipped to key customers.

2020 must be a revolution year for technology...
16-core modular CPU (two 8-core CPU chiplets + IO chiplet) 65watts + ddr5 usb 4.0 motherboards

hope this become true in 2020, then ill upgrade my intel system to amd.

Yeah Rome is a product that you want OEM products in the market before you announce it. Really learned their lessons on Naples bit probably needed to launch it without OEM backing to get customers to put pressure on the OEMs to offer products. So yeah "Rome first" probably didn't mean Rome announced first, that Rome would be shipping earlier. Doing it this way also allows them to have quite the inventory of chips before Ryzen 3ks release.

The 16 core chip on consumer level AM4 platform is going to be huge. The other stuff is questionable. USB3.0 was a huge upgrade from USB2.0 so it was worth upgrading for. USB4.0 is going to be faster still, but USB3.0 is fast enough. DDR5 is going to be faster, but probably not by much and it's going to be at least twice as expensive as DDR4.

Point being, if you're due for an upgrade there is no reason to wait till 2020 when X570 is just around the corner and it'll be capable of driving 16 core chips.

So true on the USB point.
I’m planning a new build and became obsessed about having USB 3.1 10 gig connections. Then reality set in....
What the hell will I use them for? Maybe a backup hard drive, maybe they’ll make one that could work on it but again reality says it is extremely unlikely it will need that amount of bandwidth consistently also I’d likely buy a WiFi back up solution so it can handle my phones data too.
Finally if the backup happens while I sleep why does it backing up an hour or two quicker matter?

So easy to chase spec’s just because you want them.

DDR5 is going to be HUGE for APUs, even the current Vega 8 and 11 would perform a hell of a lot faster with DDR5... The 2200G actually has a integrated RX550... and the Vega 11 should performing near to RX460 with DDR5. Navi APU with DDR5 i bet it would be around a 1050TI...

Im playing with right with just a overclocked 2200G and im impressed... But im just not sure that DDR5 will come on 2020... but that has to be AMD next step after AM4, and AM4 ends next year. Actually it may end now with the 500 series mbs and Ryzen 3000, there no much point in releasing Navi APUs to AM4 either.

Single chiplet products are far less complex and naturally come to market first. There is likely much testing to be done for multi chiplet products, and possibly even kinks to be ironed out.

Is it easy to disassemble this motherboard? I wonder because I think it's going to be hard to remove the dust from that armor

I typically remove plastic "for show" shrouds from motherboards. They are typically held by a bunch of screws from the bottom side of the motherboard and are very easy to remove. Just got to watch for any possible LED wires and remove them with care.

FYI I would probably wait for X570 motherboards though as they should be right around the corner.

Sigh....

Part of me wants to get a 12 core beast, but then part of me knows i have a 8700k already with 32g of ram and 1080ti.

Tough job being an IT nerd.

Sell the motherboard and the 8700k, keep the memory. 3200 CAS14 tier is 100% b-die based, that's the stuff that makes Ryzen shine.

If Zen2's memory controller remains the same or similar, then you're in for a treat if you decide to upgrade and put in the time to stabilize the required set of proper timings for that extra performance.

That’s what I’m looking forward to, however I do not have anything near what you currently have.

Well, I have to say this LOOKS legit. So at some point a 3800x will be in my house. 4.7 turbo on 16 cores ? Yea baby ! I bet I could get 5 out of it on a good 240 or 360 AIO.

Edit: while I was posting, FlanK3r was also. Well, how could they be selling fake CPU's ?

No need. It's dustproof armor. There's no other good reason to armor-plate a motherboard.

Gamers might fall for the RGB-it-all eye-strain, but there's no way they're gullible enough to fall for more useless plastic bits that only toddlers would want to swallow, right? Right???

Well of course they are fake, and totaly unreasonable CPU details.

R7 2700X 8/16, 3.7ghz with 4.3ghzTurbocore

R5 or R7 or Toyota 3600X etc pick what you want 8/16, 4ghz stock with 4.8 ghz Turbocore

Stock CPU higher clocks is 1000% real.People probablly have problem with that 4.8 ghz Turbocore "because someone said"(but what all Core Turbo or singlecore Turbocore?) that Ryzen 3000 can only hit 4.5ghz.

Well you have already logically assessed this information, or looks legit.

All that the rest what i wrote, well it is kinda of ironic or joke+ for good measure comparison Ryzen+ vs Ryzen 3000 details.
