Got an email today saying that they were bumping us up another tier for no added cost (like they don't charge enough already). Came home, rebooted and say 122 Mb/s down and 12Mb/s upload.
All;
If you received a note from Comcast that you're DL/UL was increased, you must have a docsis 3 modem, and hard-reset your modem. Then perform a speedtest. That should do it. I know the "Blast" internet went from 50/10 to 105/20 at no additional cost in many areas.

I seem to remember the email telling me to remove the coax from the modem, wait 30 seconds and reconnect. At reconnect, it downloads new firmware.Interesting, I may have to try a hard reset. I did a soft reset from the web interface remotely. I signed up for Blast initially, think I'm still on that plan...

Hard reset probably does the same thing. Now that I think about it, mine may differ because I have a VOIP modem with a battery backup in it.
It's COMCASTIC! Boombastic!
All the network upgrades Comcast has been doing for over a decade just keep coming to fruition. Offering customers much more speed for the same low, low monthly cost!
You'll save a plenty
When you switch to Infinity!
Yeah, and they don't supply them with a battery anymore. If you want the battery backup you've got to buy the battery your own dang self. I'm contemplating going with a different alarm monitoring company when my contract runs out this summer that will allow me to ditch the VOIP service. I see that Newegg has the SB6121 at $69.99 right now with free shipping. I'm tempted to pick one up now although Amazon has it for the same price so it's really not a deal. What to do, what to do... I'll probably wait.The combo VOIP/Internet ones usually have a reset button in the back that you need to hold down for say, a minute. Just unplugging doesn't work because of the battery.
Just a heads up, it might take longer than usual to come back up since the modem will get a new config file this time.
