It gets confusing when people try to be nice like that at 4 way stops. If me and another car are approaching at the same time, I'll come to a complete stop while the other car comes to a rolling stop and there's no confusion about who should go first. Sometimes the other car will come to a complete stop as well. Oh shit. Oh goes first? A lot of people don't seem to know that the person to the right goes first, so that can get awkward where both cars inch forward then stop then inch forward then stop. I'd rather just wait and let the other person go, but sometimes they're thinking the same thing.I also think that people are too nice down here in the south at times. On the road I live on, sometimes people wait to get out of the gas station (I'm not sure why they don't get on the main road that my road intersects with and just do a u-turn...). Well, when our lights turn green, people will actually wait and let them out, but they don't realize it at first. I recall one time, this guy held up the line just to let two people out and the light ended up turning red after that. So essentially, he was "nice" and let two people out when maybe five to seven could have gotten through the light instead.
Everyone here does that. I did it as well until I got a $300 ticket for coming to a rolling stop at a stop sign. Now I do a full stop every time. People HATE me because of it.Heh, I like to call that the "New York Stop" since I don't think most New Yorkers stop at stop signs if you can clearly see there's nothing to actually stop for.
On the highway you will get noticed by your relative speed to other traffic regardless of absolute posted limit. If everyone is going 85 in a 55 and you are the one going 95 and making multiple lane changes to get around everyone else, expect to be the only one getting a ticket.
My favorites are the ones who try to pace a cop in front of them or out run a cop behind them in the left lane and refusing to get over.
At the same time they would make cars with V6 engines illegal. We're talking about saving fuel, right? The only reason to go to 55 is to save fuel.
If it comes to pass that peak oil turns out to be a national emergency killing jobs productivity and trade imbalance as the US exports 1 Billion $ a day
I could see it happening
I got pulled over for doing 74 on the 405N in OC in the carpool lane. Traffic was moving at about 70ish. Irvine cops are probably some of the worst/most bored in the country.
Also cops on the stretch of 15 going from CA to Vegas, NHP car pulled over a yaris doing like 80 I would guess (I was going 78). Nearly shat a brick when he rolled up behind me. If youve driven that stretch of road before, its flat and straight for nearly like 40 miles.

it's amazing how more than 2 cars at an intersection seems to turn the majority of the population into complete idiots.
The problem is the "who gets there first" rule. Because of that, people fight over who gets there first or who gets there last then disregard the rule about person to your right going first.
new rule: remove all 4 way stops and put traffic circles everywhere. I've never seen anyone have a problem with those.
Seems like it breaks down into 3 scenarios:who gets there first causes issues because assholes dont actually stop, they cruise thru at 15 MPH tapping the brakes
Get rid of split speed limits also, making trucks go up to 20mph slower sucks.

LOL.

i hate when you get a light that is out. someone will stop, wait their turn, proceed through the intersection, and the moron behind them just goes along as well. happens all the time.
Assume you mean tractor/trailer rigs...? Yea it sucks and what worse is having a CDL like I do also means any and I mean any kind of infraction like a broken tail light or tag light out or simple issue as such will put points on your record just like a moving violation... Texas just started this crap so even when your in a private auto you better be on your toes... Also a CDL mean NO defensive driving class to keep it off your record either which really bites @zz too... I will say though unless your doing something really stupid like this...

The state troopers around here will give you a break if you have a CDL and you just come clean and tell them you screwed up and not try to say "ah thats bullchit" I did`nt do that... I drive a company service truck so really watch what I do and just let the idiots have the road, same goes for my personal truck as well...
Right on. People in north america can't use them because we have so few of them.Thats the problem if you only have one cicrcle is they aren't common enough for people to get used to them.
Once you have a bunch they kick-a IMO
My city has 7 of them and I love the heck out of them. They are not meant to replace a light controlled intersection, but more like an alternative to a 4 way stop.Right on. People in north america can't use them because we have so few of them.
