what do the labels stand for? like the cpu, case fan, hard drive? total noob to speedfan, thanks

yeah you have to get a different program like asus pc probe to find out which ones are which, and compare them to what you have in speedfan. The rest you just guess.

Temp2 is probably the CPU, Temp1 the case. Temp3 doesn't seem to lead to anything right now.
HD) is the hard drive of course....The bottom Temp1-ACPI, no idea what that is.

And I'll spread the word - PNG is the way to go for simple screenshots. I use Irfanview with the PNGOut plugin.
Just don't save a JPEG screenshot to PNG - it'll preserve the image artifacts too, and increase the filesize.
Drastic filesize savings, no image quality loss. PNG.

As scrawn said its best to use either Everest/MBM/Sandra/Probe whatever you want and match the temps. You can then rename the "Temp1 Temp 2 etc..." to the proper device. Use F2 to rename them. Ignore the 127C. I willing to bet Temp 1 is your mobo/case, Temp 2 is cpu, Temp 3 ignore, Temp (32C) is your ambient GPU temp otherwise known as GPU pcb temp, HD0 is your HD temp, and ACPI could be either another mobo (remote) temp or your case. Don't quote me on this, just use another temp software monitor to find out for sure.

I think JBDan has got the speed fan temps figured out. I'd suggest reading the Speedfan documentation......it pretty much explains everything very well.

Determining the CPU temp is easy......run a burn-in prog like CPU-Burn. That temp will zoom up. The MB temp will rise slowly. Ignore that 127C temp.....it's a phantom sensor that speedfan registered. The last temp is something later versions of Speedfan register....it usually stays about the same.

Speedfan.....a great/the best temp monitor prog, that requires some learning to use to it's max.
