I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel the other night. He was very awkward, and would just stare at him when he asked questions. They had a spelling bee at the end where Guillermo(sp) was saying the words. The kid couldn't understand anything he said and lost, it was hilarious.

OUGGHHHH. I'm homeschooled, and I have to say, most don't have such poor social skills. I wanted to gouge my ears out for the huge pauses and silence on LIVE TV.

I don't know if this is poor social skills as much as it was this kid just stunned at being interviewed on TV, etc. <shrugs> Really hard to tell just based off of this.

Wow, that was awkward. Especially with the "king of the words" subtitle, and all the pauses. I kind of feel for the kid, he didn't know any better.

I was homeschooled until 6th grade, and I had to go through my "socialization period"...but now I'm a normal, functioning member of society.

that was painful to watch...and i only stuck thru a litttle bit over a minute of it. that kid's homeschooled...makes me wonder if his mom doesn't let him out much to hang with/play with the other kids. so sad if that's the case.

Or the fact that they went ahead and put him on live TV in the first place. The network execs likely love the idea of capitalizing on the image that all smart people are awkward, so they OK it. His parents are probably oblivious to their 100%-perfect-child's lack of communication skills, so they decided to parade him around on national TV.
