There's clearly a law that says if you ever post a comment criticising another post's spelling or punctuation you will invariably make a spelling or punctuation error in that post itself.

I do worry, though, that eventually the distinction between "your" and "you're" and between "their" and "they're" will be lost completely, and they'll have to amend the dictionaries.

I'm still not sure how I am supposed to lol my gay. I don't even have a gay, yet alone know how to lol one.

Yet I frequently encounter the instruction to "lol your gay", so I guess if you have a gay, it is important to lol them regularly.

There are usually four possible reasons to why one might find errors on forms. The main reason is the speed at which people want to complete the creation of forms. The other three reasons usually apply to specific scenarios. The second possible reason can be seen in situations similar to when one would be creating forms on Google Forms. This task would usually involve using the web browser when typing the text for the form. Although browsers do have a spell checker, they are not that advanced as the spell checker in Microsoft Word. Web browsers usually do not check grammar. Another reason why there are usually spelling or grammar errors in forms, is the usage of web page creation software (Dreamweaver, FrontPage, etc.), for the creation of the form. This type of software usually does have spell checkers, although are of the same nature as those found in web browsers. The final reason to why one might find errors on forms, is a bit more of linguistic reason. If the form was created in British English and someone was to read it as American English, you might spot words that may seem incorrectly spelt. However, they were spelt in that manner on purpose. There are words in the American and British English dictionary that sound the same, mean the same, but are spelt differently. Take the word color for example. Spelling it as color in British English would be incorrect, because in British English it is spelt as "colour".
