lol...I'd never do it. if you have the money to burn, great for you. I pay at most, $50 a shirt so that is a bit more reasonable, but at max, I pay the same price for jeans so there you got taken.

I got 20% off and then another 20% of that price. I only shop for jeans every 2-3 years.

You only buy 2 pairs of jeans every 2-3 years?

well one is about supporting vanity/conspicuous consumption, the other is a product that is cutting edge technology i think one is clearly more stupid than the other.

No, not really

eh heh. well i just find it easier to justify throwing money at tech companies who spend the money on r&d, scientists, engineers to push technology forward rather than some manipulative poofs dictating fashion selling overpriced sewn cloth.

I've even started to buy the majority of my business casual clothing there, too. If their Haggar slacks work as well as I think they will then I'm sold.

I wouldn't care in the least if my wife did, but I never would. The jeans I like are usually about $30.

I wear cheap cloths till they fall apart. But then I like spending money to get quality gear elsewhere (electronics and hardware) so to each his own. They better be designer jeans for that price though!

Same.

I tried some £180 jeans and they were crap for my fit, but your shirts aren't priced fine imo.

I haven't spent much on my pc in years. Just stuff to tied it over but on clothes I've spent a fair amount. 1 or 2 items every 3-4months. I use to get an item every month but my wardrobe is pretty sweet now. I am pretty happy with the stuff I have.

My favorite pair of jeans are probably my Levi ones. £50 and they are gong strong after 6yrs! All of my jeans have lasted years and are great to wear.

We pick and choose what we get. £250+ on a graphics card is a hell of a lot of money and £100+ is a lot on a pair of jeans. I prefer to spend £50-70 tops on a pair of jeans and something that works for a graphics card now a days

I've never heard of Lucky jeans so I'll have to take a look.
-not bad stuff, $312 for 2 jeans and 2 t shirts with $40 delivery to England. I'm going to have a field day if I go to New York for work!

too much. most people (yes, girls too) can't appreciate the overly priced clothing-- which are usually made in the same factories as generic brand clothing. take the ugliest shirt, slap Tommy Bahama on it, and you can sell it for 500% markup. Take a Tommy Bahama shirt and put a Gap tag on it, and no one wants it. Funny how the mind works.

remove all tags, and most people go for the cheaper brand. go figure.

EDIT: I should mention that not all brand recognition is illogical, of course. Many brands DO genuinely make quality clothing and should command price premiums (Nike, Banana Republic, etc. etc.) But when it comes to fashion, branding and prices get outrageous/ridiculous and FAST. I used to buy into that stuff, lacoste shirts, armani, metro stuff, etc. Sure they were good products. But then I realized just how silly it was to pay $80 for a polo shirt that was, at best, marginally better than something I can get at Gap or J.Crew on sale for a fraction of the cost.

I still pay extra for recognizable quality, but I've stopped being 'sucked in' (or at least I hope I have). Stroll through Nordstrom and you realize how atrociously ugly and high-priced items can be. Yet people get sucked in.

I tend to not go for clothing with too crazy branding on it. I was at the A&F store and they had RIDICULOUS t shirts with a HUGE F I T C H across them, going for £40 ~ $75! wtf?! The material was nice enough, but NO WAY £40 nice enough with such a plain and poor design to warrent £40!

For me, it isn't about branding, but quality and style. I'm not paying over the odds for some BS logo blazed across the front.

There's no reason a pair of jeans should only last a guy 6 months, unless you're doing constant yard work in them or something. I spend about $40 on a pair of jeans that last at least two years minimum.

$210 for a pair of jeans is a total waste of money, as is $70 for a single shirt.

Maybe I'm just a i love you, but I prefer to buy lots of cheap clothes and actually wash them every once in a while. If you're spending $100 for every pair of jeans, you're either doing laundry every few days, wearing the same clothes several days in a row without washing, or spending literally thousands of dollars on clothes.

edit: Still wearing the same $25 Walmart jeans I had 2 years ago. T-shirts are updated a bit more often because they only cost $5

Kohl's has everything a size too big on shirts though pants and jeans are decent.

I like the outlet called Express a lot. Their sizes actually fit me frame.

I f'ing hate A & F as everything is a muscle T and meant for 17 year olds.

When you consider the technology that goes into a video card, it's pretty obvious that it's worth at least the $100-300 we pay. The same can't be said about jeans. I like good looking clothes but I buy them from Buffalo Exchange for 1/5 what some Montrose homosexual paid a year ago.
It comes down to me paying $25 for a nice looking hoodie made in Italy and $20 for Diesel jeans, while you fools pay $300 for jeans made in Chinese sweatshops.

BTW, Academy has good pants made by Austin Clothing Company. They are made somewhere in Eastern Europe and therefore sweatshop free.

I don't know squat about fashion but I don't think an expensive pair of jeans actually adds to your overall appeal. A nice shirt, suit or coat? Definitely. But I really doubt if people even pay any attention to a dude's pants.

And FWIW, I think a graphics card is worth quitting cigarettes and beer for a month, and living on Ramen and tap water.

Graphics card in about $300 range is worth far more than designer jeans. If you play Games, $250-300 card almost makes your pc a new gaming PC

Super expensive jeans? ROFL

And like I said earlier my jeans last me about 6 months cause I only have one pair. I wear it for few days/couple weeks in a row. Unless you stink I don't see the need to wash jeans after you wore them for 3 days. I walk outside for 40 min 4 days a week in them too. But we already had a thread about "others can smell your jeans!!!" here. And I pwned there

Oh they pay attention, but that's not the issue. You can buy some really damn nice pants for $40. If you're talking dress pants, bump it up to maybe $50 and you can get some dress pants at Moores.

You have a very serious drinking problem if you can drink $200+ of beer in a month.

About what I pay. But this would probably sound insane to a lot of people. If you have the money whatever.

If you can justify spending $500 for a few more FPS in a video game on your computer but get apoplectic at spending over $50 for jeans you simply have different priorities. This is SOP for young profs in major cities.

I have a 150 dollar pair of 7's so 420 for 3 pairs is not outrageous. Don't under estimate the importance of a nice pair of jeans.

Of course this is all moot if you are married and have kids. If you are single and still attend social events dressing well is important.
