in honor of this thread I went shopping for jeans during lunch and nearly pulled the trigger on a $138 pair of ed hardy jeans. I opted to purchase 2 designer shirts instead which came to 60 dollars. Not bad.

I did not buy the jeans because they werent exactly the fit I was looking for and I wanted to check out nordstroms collection first. So I will likely get a pair next week.

Ed Hardy is slowly getting played out. I still like his designs tho, it just sucks when all I see are Ed Hardy and affliction shirts everywhere (I HATE AFFLICTION SHIRTS)

Agreed. I never bought into it. I've never bought shirts that have the designers name emblazened across it. The jeans i almost bought were just a cool style did not say ed hardy on them anywhere.

accompanied by 2 pairs polo classic chinos @ $69.50 each for work

so that was ~$340.00 for 3 pairs pants

I have on some $75 Ecko jeans, I don't know how they get the material so soft, but they feel like a cotton tee-shirt, where my $25 generic ones are stiff and not very comfortable. Levis aren't comfortable at all to me. I would compare expensive jeans to cheap jeans much like a nice office chair to a shitty one.

I WON'T find cheap jeans that are comfortable and fit well, period. there's a reason jeans are so cheap at Old Navy. I suspect people who are fine wearing $15 jeans also don't mind sitting in a $30 office chair.

Crazy, I think I spent 200 bucks or so total on 2 pairs of dress pants, 3 dress shirts, two ties, and a pair of nice dress shoes.

err, probably because you didn't really get jeans?

I would spend money on work attire. For daily wear, I just get the cheap stuff, be it on sale brand name or regular price cheap.

It would be a sad day for me to depend on casual wear to know who I am.

I'd love to spend less but for my build its difficult to find clothes that I like, that fit, and that are in stock! I have to take what I can get ya know?

I'm all about Levi's 560s. They run me about 35-40 bucks a pair at JC Penny or Kohls. They usually last me 2-3 years too. $210 a pair for jeans? You're outta your effin mind. Even for a pair of suit pants that's high.

Hah, I bought Lucky Brand jeans for $35 from Costco. I searched them up on their site and their MSRP was $120. WTF!?!

They are definitely the best pair of jeans I've had, though.

No fucking reason for anyone to ever spend that much on clothes.

I hear people argue about how much better quality their 200$ jeans than reasonably priced jeans and I just laugh.

You get what you pay for within limits. Many cheap clothing products get made in cheap, fairly unskilled labor factories in asia. Most expensive products get made in europe with high wage, often higher skill labor. This reflects in the tailoring and condition of your clothes. I dated a girl who probably designed your Ecko jeans or at least knows some part of it's construction. Bargain products from even the same company go to HK to be produced in SE Asia with cheaper materials and stitching. The high end lines go mostly to Italy. Your jeans were probably went through a lot of preconditioning, simulated wear, and even the fibers can be softened, whatever I am no expert. She explained some of the treatment and finishing processes to me about some expensive jeans I had.

Anyways who cares what people pay for anything that is worth it to them. Everyone knows money is worth something different to someone else no matter what you see on the face value. Dropping $200 to you may be $20 to someone else. I would only frown upon people who spend that kind of money when they can't afford it. Like a girl I am seeing just dropped $400 on sun glasses (non prescription). She cannot afford it. That was irresponsible and stupid. Another girl I know spent the same thing on a pair of shoes she will probably wear once a month or less. I didn't say a word to her because she makes 6 figures. Cost is all relative to how much you can afford. I own everything from $20 car-hart jeans to $260 Diesel jeans. My bills are paid, my 401k is maxed, I donate money to charities. After that, why does anyone care what I spend my money on? Especially if it's the things I cover myself with all day long and silently expresses my individuality?

Do you laugh at people who insist an MB S550 is superior to a Scion sc?

They are both just cars right?
