Yes, I see this thread is supposedly for men, but I just had to act on this insane price.

I feel I should qualify myself first, having been disabled for a long time now, I have learned to be very frugal with what little money the gov't gives me... but... ARE YOU INSANE!?

I believe stoutly in buying good quality clothes that will not fall apart, but that is way beyond it. I actually go to wal-mart to buy clothes, and I tend to buy the $10 cotton T shirts and $12 (male) rustler brand blue jeans for new clothes. $420 would get me clothes (including unders and shoes) for about five years' use!

I don't spend very much on casual clothes at all. I refuse to spend more than $100 on jeans and I mainly wear t-shirts and whatnot that are not very pricey. However, I have no qualms about spending money on my work clothes because I am in them more than I am in my casual clothes, plus I honestly believe you can tell the difference (look and feel) between higher quality suits/shirts/ties and their inexpensive counterparts. So almost all of my ties cost me more than my jeans or any of my other casual attire, but it's an expenditure I feel is necessary at this point in my life.

I WON'T find cheap jeans that are comfortable and fit well, period. there's a reason jeans are so cheap at Old Navy. I suspect people who are fine wearing $15 jeans also don't mind sitting in a $30 office chair.

My work attire is basically jeans and polos. i don't spend more than $30. I've upped it since I'm short and it's impossible to find cheap jeans for short people. And I hate the hemmed jean look. I've contemplated spending more on nice jeans for going out.. but well.. i rarely go out, ha.

And shirts.. I have a bunch of polos. it's a pretty boring wardrobe.

however, to counter, I would gladly spend $150 on an office chair. but then again, that's pocket change to some of those $800+ ones that are supposedly well worth it. I'd rather spend that money on a new lens (which brings up the real factor, everyone has a different value for everything).

How much did you spend on those crotchless panties that are laying next to my bed?

With guys, personality counts more (for girls) than looks in the first place, and spending $120 rather than $40 on pants isn't going to do much for looks, I'd think. Maybe a small improvement for those girls who even notice (girls, pipe up, would you notice?). What nice clothes could help with is boosting confidence, which is definitely important, but for most men, there are cheaper and more lasting ways to feel good about yourself than turning metro. Other than confidence, you can flaunt wealth with clothes, too, but that's pretty silly if you're not rich, right?

Why laugh? a lot are better quality, you might be shocked, but not all clothing is made the same. My bed sheets were expensive, and they are much softer and better made than the cheapo ones. In the end they both sheets accomplish the same task, but quality and my comfort level are worth extra money. Resonably priced jeans aren't that comfortable. A person who says that either A. Don't care about comfort and only want a good price or B. has never bee in a pair of soft comfortable jeans. You couldn't pay me to wear Levis, but that's just me *shrug*

no labels on anything i bought today.

The only thing I wear with labels are my lacoste polos.

i don't count that as a label anyways.

exactly..but somehow the polo brand logo is a label. weird eh?

I don't consider that a label eitehr.

..well people in fashion do. The polo logo is just not cool.

If you're going to spend that much money on jeans, you have to stop shopping at Nordstroms. There are tons of better places out there where you spend less money for better quality.

For example, I could go to Nordstroms and drop $250 on a pair of Rock and Republic jeans that are lame and covered with flair and crap. OR I could go downtown to the local jean shop and spend $250 on 2 pairs of jeans that are made by smaller designers, fit much better, and don't make me look like a chode that shops at nordstroms.

i only wear one pair of jeans at a time and they last me about 6 months, and they only cost me $40 at Old Navy. I spent about $20 on shirts and some have lasted me 2 years, wearing them once a week (around the house and stuff)

unless you need to buy expensive clothes for your profession, do me a favor and send me your extra money.

I agree personality counts more, but that wasnt what I was saying. There may be cheaper and more lasting ways to gain confidence, but thats not really what I am talking about.

I really don't need some girl on this forum to confirm that they do notice. I have had many compliments about my clothes, which confirms everything I need to know right there.

On another note, I just got some badass 7 for all mankind A Pocket jeans (khakis ) that are the shit! They are 97% cotton, 3% elastane and they are the most comfortable pair of pants ive ever bought.
