Be careful when using coupon at Spiegel.
They have a nasty habit of charging you full price and accusing you of using illegal coupon.
Don't forget to check your cc after ordering, better yet use one time use cc for Spiegel.

They are notorious for removing the coupon from your order and charging full price. I plan on disputing mine with the CC company.

Just wanted to throw one negative in here after my "awesome" review above: There is one thing about this (and the other dream systems) that drives me crazy. To conserve space, Sony uses a motorized elevator system for swapping out the discs. That can be kind of a pain... can take awhile for the disc to come out, and of course there is no way to eyeball which 5 CDs/DVDs you have in the thing at any given moment.

It's really a small complaint... And this thing truly is TINY. Takes up no space at all.

If you're on the fence, get it! I highly recommend it. I actually have the DAV-C770, and my friend has teh C990. We've compared quite a bit, and they really seem identical except for the speaker design. I've heard both, and both sound incredible. I paid about twice as much as this, and it was well worth it.

One other note: When I bought my system, sony had a rebate, and a second mail-in offer for free speaker stands. I got the rebate very quickly -- just a couple weeks. As for the speaker stands, I STILL haven't received them. However, a few weeks ago Sony sent me a letter apologizing for the delay, and explaining that there demand outpaced the inventory. They assured me the stands were still going to come, and gave me two free DVDs (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Vertical Limit) for my trouble.

Not bad, I'd say.
