Any extra weight on a aicraft is a luxury.
Then we should be charging tickets by weight.
Any extra weight on a aicraft is a luxury.
You consider a glass of water to be a luxury item?

If the airlines truly believed that, they'd charge passengers by their weight. Tired of fat asses spilling over into my seat.
I always had to pay when flying domestically for coffee or drinks. Last time I flew with delta or US they still charged for coffee but I didn't ask for water. I know they were charging for sparkling water. This while a while ago so maybe now its changed.
To be fair, anything larger than a midget spills out of the seats at Spirit. If the airlines truly believed that, they'd charge passengers by their weight. Tired of fat asses spilling over into my seat.

I really don't get it. You guys spend as little money as possible on the ticket and expect it to have the same comforts and perks of other airlines? It is super cheap for a reason...
Flew Spirit once about 3 years ago.
At the O'Hare Airport in Chicago the Spirit terminal smelled like piss. The seats were even smaller than the already squeezed in Southwest seats and felt like they were thin fabric on top of plywood. The plane squeaked and creaked like no other plane I've ever heard before (for about 6 months I flew to a new location every week so I've been on a decent number of planes). They were charging $28 for a carry on and $34 for a checked bag so you were only allowed a personal item (backpack or duffel bag) without having to pay any money. Everything was ballpark / movie theater prices for drinks / snacks.
Every penny you saved on the ticket (which was only a few pennies at that) were spent immediately on fees that added up just by the average person traveling. Will never fly Spirit ever again unless it is over $100 cheaper for the ticket. Just not worth the hassle to save $20.
water and coffee are not perks, its just good customer service. I can understand charging for soft drinks and juice but not coffee or water.
Both cost money esp if being transported by air.
I don't think you fly much though.
lolwut?
Damn spirit wants me to check in online or else charge me $10 tomorrow at the airport. I already paid for my bags online earlier so I figured I was good. Apparently they even charge for you to get your boarding pass. Lol.
They are the ghetto flight lines. You get what you pay for.
