Why would you buy a $60 single-player PC game with highly restrictive DRM?
It'll be $20 in a month. But it'll probably still perform badly.
I wouldn't even pay a dollar for UbiFail's "always online DRM" crippled games.
Especially given the fact that pirates are enjoying the superior version a day after release as the protection has been completely cracked at this point. If Ubisoft releases a patch that removes the DRM from their recent games, i'd happy buy a few of them as i'm a fan of some of the series they publish.
FFS, can we through a thread without talking about the DRM?
Yes it sucks, but it's not going away anytime soon. You can vote for your wallet all you want, but it's not changing anything. So while you're not playing the game, I'm sitting here playing it, restrictive DRM and all. My internet connection is always connected anyway, and rarely do I have an outage. Even if I do, there's a shitload more games I could play anyway.
I used to bitch and whine about all the DRM schemes out there, but to be honest, I've yet to be locked out of a game. I reformat on a regular basis and can still play the games I enjoy.
So yea, I hate being treated like a pirate by game companies, but there's little I can do to change it.
FWIW, I also got in on the splinter cell deal. $46 for SC1, Chaos Theory, Double Agent, and Conviction. I've thoroughly enjoyed each one (except double agent... pure junk) and have gotten my money out of it.
