Good luck in policing that ban.
There are meds you could give, but not sure how legal that would be

Hiding out in PV? I guess their hearts just weren't in it or couldn't get as much cash as they needed to last a little longer.
Still, it would be awfully hard for a couple of typical wealthy-ish Americans to have the street smarts or connections to be able to disappear out into the world.
Good news. Maybe this spoiled punk will actually spend some time behind bars now.

Disulfiram (sold under the trade names Antabuse and Antabus) is a drug discovered in the 1920s[1] that is used to support the treatment of chronic alcoholism by producing an acute sensitivity to ethanol (alcohol). Disulfiram works by inhibiting the enzyme acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, which means many of the effects of a "hangover" are felt immediately after alcohol is consumed.
I thought this too. Anywhere you can completely disappear is not a place for a soft papered person.
In a weird way I was hoping he'd do something similar (without deaths) in Thailand or Singapore then see what justice is like.
I'm sure they could tell him he must take the drug daily if he wants to stay out of jail.

Anyone with a real drinking problem would still drink this wouldn't stop them.

He will probably get house arrest at worst. They are probably connected in the moneyed Texas innercircle. Usually those folks never get more than a slap on the wrist. He kind of looks like a halfwit, low genetic quality offspring.
I'm betting that because of all the publicity over the light sentence he originally received as well as his subsequent flight, he does a year for this. He should do the whole 10, but I'll predict 1 year.
While I hate your prediction, I don't have one. The only prediction I now offer anyone at the moment involves the timing and location of the next school-terror-hoax: either Nevada or South Carolina, and it might not happen.
Within the last hour, the news has brought up comment from their criminal justice analysts. There is a possibility that the old conviction for Ethan may be overturned, and he could get the whole 20 years -- not 10.
And since they now have determined that his mother had aided and abetted his flight, she, too, will face jail time, although I don't know if it was a possible 6 years or 10 years.
Now that she faces trouble, I'm wondering just how much of a dream-team either of them will have for the next go-around in court. Maybe the best that money can buy, but the Tarrant County prosecutors and judges may not be so willing to go along this time. What sort of juries would be chosen?
Unfortunately my prediction was too optimistic. This article says the maximum he faces is 120 days of jail time:
http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/29/us/affluenza-teen-ethan-couch-detained-in-mexico/index.html
If he ends up on adult probation (as opposed to juvenile court probation), then violates it in the future, he could face serious time. But not for this. At least we can be certain that 120 days will make him whine and cry like a little bitch because he's so spoiled.
Maybe they'll prosecute the mother. I doubt she'll do time. We'll see.

Not to worry too much folks, that kid will forever be running away from the monster he abjectly despises and fears the most: Himself.
Oh, and let's not forget the four ghosts of those he killed. They'll be haunting him whether awake or asleep til the day he dies.
There's nowhere he can run or hide.
