There is no reason to announce a generic winner of top shot on a tech forum, it hasn't happened for previous 3 seasons, it isn't a tradition, the fact it existed would be a spoiler to be frank.

No it wouldn't. Again you're lumping everybody into a giant group. Just like how you think every single person on the planet has the exact same schedule as you and can catch the show live, you think every single person on the forum would automatically think "IT guy" at the mere mention of Top Shot.

That is not the mindset in OT. If you didn't say IT guy I wouldn't have known.

well the show isn't that popular on this forum, there is no epic lost or game of thrones threads updated weekly.

so if a thread popped up announcing the winner all of a sudden and you were following it and knew there was an it guy in the final 4, I think the writing would be on the wall regardless.

But as I said, its like if you dvr the olympics, at a certain point its your problem if the winner is made known to you inadvertently. its been 2 days.

That's it, especially because the eliminated contestant almost always goes on a media blitz after they're kicked off and you can't expect everyone to go on radio silence for too long. Yea, we need to entertain ourselves when we're not working, don't get too worked up with arguments over the internet. I try to remind myself of that too.
