hi guys,
so I have to make a choice. Its that time of my life where I feel the need to get a decent sports car to compensate for....well whatever it is people compensate for anyways.
I live in switzerland, and my budget is around $50 000.
My options are as follows:

European 2 seater
Porche Cayman (newer model)
Porche Boxter (newish model)
Porche 911 (old 2007 model)

American muscle
Mustang
Camaro

Audi styling
A5 2 door
S5 2 door

Something else entirely
I ideally want a 2 seater, however being a big guy (1.93m tall) i cant fit into small fast cars like a mazda mx5 or a lotus.

What do you suggest?
Any porche owners here? Let me know if I should avoid any particular models/brands.

Thanks for the support guys

Is this going to be your daily driver?

Will you be driving this in the snow?

I'd think the American Muscle choices would be fun over there but how are you going to find one and how are you going to service it? Also they seem a little big, as do those Audi's, for driving around places like Lake Como and not scraping them on the buildings.

If you're going to have a mid life crisis car, go for it. Seems like a Boxster would fit that quite nicely.

due to public system here being insanely amazing, and added to the fact that i have a company car, i don't think i will use this for more than weekends, holiday showing off

oh american muscle (the new range) is quite cheap here from dealers. it fits in my range, and the service is almost as cheap as in usa

Can you hold out for the 2016 Camaro? It will have most of the Corvette Stingray features. Otherwise I like the Mustang or Cayman S from your list. The Audi's are too heavy with a strong front weight bias.

I assume the Stingray is too expensive?

Op what did you always want as a kid? what drives your desire in a car? picking a car out of public opinion wont make you happy. however going after something you've always wanted will. You know what it is and dont need to ask anyone. because at the end of the day the car sitting in your driveway should be what you imagined and desired it to be. if that doesn't answer your question dont buy a car. find something else that fulfills that dream.

My choice is always porsche boxster ... not so powerful and expensive as the 911, but is perfect for a ride .... some would say, "the only reason for someone to buy Boxter was because he had no money for the 911", but I do not agree ... Boxter is the perfect machine...

I leased an A5 and it was okay, but I wasn't particularly impressed. I would go with the Cayman if I was going to get another vehicle.

boxter.

because it's powerful enough, substantially cheaper to own/run/repair, still looks cool, easier to get in/out, and (according to a friend who owns one) drives like a dream.

rather than being a small engine pushed hard, it's a big engine working relaxed.

i'd still go for a BMW 4 door, but that's just me.

addendum: Old? Feel like killing yourself? Have you considered Motorbike™?
Nothing beats a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 when you want to feel the rush of hitting a metal pole at 140MPH.

When I've spent time in Switzerland I always wished I could have my american muscle cars with me. The huge engine in a cheap car formula is so completely out of the ordinary there it would be a ton of fun. My swiss visitors got a lot of enjoyment out of my Mustang GT when they were here so I don't think that's out of the ordinary.

So my vote would be a Mustang GT.

The new Mustang GT350 would be at the top of the budget, but would be a pretty unique and awesome car. Definitely would not see a lot of those over there....if you can snag one.

Otherwise, a current GT or previous-model years GT500 would be a great car too.

Spent 6 years in Germany and toured alot of europe. They love them some american muscle cars. While several buddies had various american cars nothing gets attention like a Vette. A close second was drop top firebird.

Now that GM and Ford are selling euro-spec american muscle the exclusivity might wear off pretty quick.

Otherwise it would be Cayman if I was in your shoes.

DigDag got a Kawasaki as a bike...Don't open the throttle as much as I should, but I think the car I'm looking for is more for the cruising/showing off factor than speed.

Jaguar F-Type, end of discussion

Edit: If that's out of your league, a Z4 would be a decent option.
