an f-350? that is our regular work truck, our daily drivers. lol.
serious though, i have seen many Fancy, expensive, one of a kind cars. years of going to car shows all over the country with my father, a real car guy, who knows every nut and bolt in them, who knows the correct shene for the paint on a bracket, or the correct marking on the bolt head for the core support... etc...
Cool and fancy/expensive are not related in my book.
it is all about emotion, and in our world today money seems to mean emotion to people. a "cool" car to me is seeing someone's old chevy pickup that they have poured their heart and soul into and driven for 40 years. they still have a huge grin on their face every time they have to adjust the carb, or use ether to start it and they are completely satisfied with it, they love their truck/car/motorcycle/thing with wheel(s)
I cant imagine my father being any happier when he's driving his own completely restored by him (and me) 72 chevy pickup or 71 chevelle. i cant imagine why you need to upgrade your Ferrari every 2 years to look "cool" if you find your car, good for you, its something most people can't understand. just like a woman, there is a car out there for everyone, you just have to find it. I could only be happier with my own 86 TransAm if it ran all the time. I cant imagine smiling anymore in a new GT-R.
the automobile should be about how you feel behind the wheel, how connected with the car itself you are, how well you know things like: pushing the pedals in just the right way to down shift your auto, or knowing exactly how much force it takes to break the tires loose on a corner or knowing how much roll can be sustained before bottoming out the sway-bars.
with that, the coolest cars i remember:
GM turbine car prototypes
192? hupmobile street rod
my fathers chevelle, i dare say the most original, correct chevelle in the country
90's zr1 corvette's and the subtle differences, like being about 6in wider than base models.
delorion's
tucker's
anything owned by someone who has a passion for it, and not just a big checkbook.

What pedals are you pushing in to downshift your auto?
Why would you even bother downshifting an auto unless you are going down a steep grade?
I love my motorcycle...but it isn't my ideal bike and I will probably get something else in a year or so. My car is a conveyance...nothing more. I like it but it doesn't do much for me other than provide good reliable transportation.
Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy with a Ducati Monster and a Lotus Elise in my garage. Two vehicles that aren't overly expensive but they really stir something in me. Both are performance machines with style and they are unique in that not everyone has one.

In an auto, when you push the gas pedal hard enough the transmission down shifts to provide more torque to the wheels. People who are used to their cars know how far to push the gas pedal to get it to down shift on it's own. Amazing what technology can do.
