Lifted 4WD Ford Excursion. 38" tires, wheels with bead locks, redone turbo on the 7.3L diesel putting out around 580 HP and 750 lb. ft. torque. Awesome truck.

I feel so sorry for you.

He just doesnt need to compensate for other areas. Something like that is utterly ridiculous for transportation and serves only to make the owner feel better about himself.

Hell when I used to work for the American Red Cross way back in the day they used to have these "Disaster Recovery Communications" rigs. They were diesel V-10 Excursions with a 6 inch lift and All-Terrain KO tires. They also had their own microwave transmitters, generators, built in cell tower, satellite phones, water purification systems and such. After talking to the people who drove them, they never said anything about them ever getting stuck.....ever....anywhere. These things were made to go to the ends of the earth and back and they did. Minus all of the compensating BS that everyone tacks on to their SUVs now

Does it occur to you that you can have a large pecker and still have an interest in those kinds of vehicles? What is your justification then?

What's with people and everything everybody else has being "oh must be compensating" ? How do you console yourselves to sleep at night when that lifted 4x4 rolls by and he's hanging his 12" pecker out the window and blows that theory to crap?

It's called, "it's a free country and people can spend their money on whatever they want."

Now, if they are careless or irresponsible with it (eg: driving unsafe with their destroyed suspension geometry and causing property damage or injury), they need to be held individually responsible on a case by case basis for what THAT ONE PERSON did. You can't just say "nobody needs it" and make the case for not allowing it at all. That's called totalitarianism or authoritarianism; closely associated with an economic system known as communism, where government decides what everyone needs and nobody is allowed to simply have... wants.

I've driven my dad's hot rodded '30 coupe and it's suspension and turning radius and braking power is absolute garbage by today's standards and completely inadequate and unsafe for the high power and low weight. But you treat it with respect and don't make stupid decisions with it, it's perfectly fine and an absolute blast.

Hate the reckless and inconsiderate individual, not the inanimate non-sentient object.

This.. If we all went by what we needed, most of us wouldn't have a car. A great many of us could get where we wanted to go by walking, cycling, or public transportation. So tell my PhoKing, why do you feel that your standard of convenience should be the definitive standard? By driving yourself you are using a convenience. You don't need it.

Well, today I've only been to the grocery store about a mile away. Saw a nice Corvette, a nice Mustang, and a nice BMW 3 series. Nothing special.

I don't even want to comment about transmission or compensation issues. Keep it on topic. There are plenty of other threads that degenerate into that stuff.
