I have not kept updated on all the details of the latest developments in chip and chipset designs. But I have been planning my next new system and would like some suggestions.
I would like to get an i865 or i875 with a P4 2.8-800. After a year or so, my next upgrade would be to get a Prescott type chip (after the price comes down). I?ll probably opt for a
3.4 GHz or so. Here are my questions:
1) I assume the i865 or i875 motherboards will have the 478 sockets since they will be compatible with the 533 MHz chips. Is this correct?
2) Will the Prescott chips have the 478 type pins or will there be a new design?
