Rumors at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas indicated the big news could be a CDMA- or WiMax-ready iPhone from Sprint or perhaps a joint announcement with Hewlett Packard of a WebOS tablet or smartphone.
Master illusionist David Blaine will be part of the evening event; the invitation says Sprint and Blaine will "show you that the impossible is possible."

I am going to go out on a limb and say that article is 100% wrong, as no iPhone or WebOS or Tablet will be an "industry first."
Now what would be an industry first is an HTC 3D Ready superphone, mentioned a month ago on a few websites. (http://www.dialtosave.co.uk/mobile/news/2010/12/01/htc-to-release-3d-android-handset-in-2011/)
I am so happy I didn't bite on a new phone earlier this week. I can hold on to my HTC Hero for a few more weeks. It's funny that Sprint is scheduling this only a few days before people could pre-order an iPhone from Verizon.
Viva la Sprint!
