Vision is very different from the old WW. Besides, $5 it still detracts from your airtime. I'd much rather pay $10 or $15 for Vision seeing how superior it is.

Uh, not so much 'cuz you have to Renew a one or two year Sprint PCS Advantage Agreement in order to get a new phone.
A much better alternative, IMHO, is to simply buy a new phone off of eGay and then activate it to use with your account. You get phones for a good price and, more importantly, you do not have to renew your contract.
Good luck getting the newest phones any cheaper then in-store.

I heard that anytime you switch hardware, your contract is automatically renewed.
Complete BS. There is no charge or contract renewal for an ESN swap.
Gluck, you got a standard retention deal, a pretty crappy one at that.
goblue420, I have not heard about that and I highly doubt it exists. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to get any sort of discount towards a handset with the advent of these upgrade rebates. There is no precedent now for retention to provide discounts.
Man, the is a lot of mis-information in this thread. Yes, there are glitches in the system that don't always reset the 18 month counter if you've swapped ESNs. Its happened to me as well.
Final bit of info for this post: If you haven't had the handset 18 months but have had it at least 12 you quality for half of the rebate amount. And, if you sign a 1 year contract instead of a 2 year contract the rebate amount is also half. I'm going to doublecheck this last bit of info to make sure I've got it right.
