Yep, and if you upgrade before 18 months then the rebate is also $100, tho the max amount does vary by phone.

More details, for a partial rebate you must have had your current handset for 12-17 months and be within 2 months of the end of your contract.

Again, the amount of the rebate varies by what handset you are buying.

Another heads up: Best Buy will often give the same rebate as a Sprint store with you only having to sign a one year agreement, but the rebate is mail in rather than instant.

Can I use Sprint phone with a different one like AT&T, T-Mobile,...? Do they have SIM card to change? I have the old Sprint phone and it doesn't have SIM card, don't know about the new models.

No. CDMA phones do not use SIM cards or any other type of interchangeable card.

And yes, RUIM exists (CDMA version of a SIM card) but there aren't any providers currently implementing it.

The Amazon rebate is for new customers only. The rebate you can get is through Sprint for $150 if you sign a new 2 year contract. If you get a 4050 you will not need to add Vision. However, if you don't there is no way to get the picture off the phone. So if you only want to take pictures for use on the phone (screen saver, photo caller ID, etc) then no problem.

Vision is the fancy name for data services. With Vision you have high-speed internet connection (faster then dial-up) and access to download ringers/games/screen savers/apps/etc. And, of course, you can upload pictures and videos and share them with other people via e-mail or other Sprint subscribers.

EDIT: You don't have to change your plan.

Do any of you know if this 18 month sprint rebate is available at all authorized sprint resellers? (i.e. bestbuy, staples, circuit city, radioshack, etc)

Thanks....

Good deal...so I know that Best Buy, RadioShack, and Costco have a pretty good warranty/replacement policy if you buy your sprint phone there. Are there other places that have good warranty/replacement policies? And has anyone seen any additional rebates/deals on sprint phones from the particular retailers, recently? I saw the thread about the 8200 phone for Costco. That looks like a good place to buy the phone from.

Best buy seems to have a good warranty, but buyer beware. I bought a $100 phone on sale. I then bought a car power adapter and holder and received a the current discount - a 50% discount on the phone if I bought the service plan.

My phone started wigging 11 months later, but I kept it one more month isnce I had the plan. I took it in 12 months plus 2 days after buying it, and they said that my they would not replace, fix, or upgrade my phone as the plan says. They would refund the price for the plan or pay me $50 for the phone. ??? WTF??

That's it. No point in having the plan. They obviously only hoped to sell it and not make good on it.

BUYER BEWARE

well, if you want a new phone, it's really better to get one off ebay. it's cheaper and you do not have to extend your contract for another year or so. And calling to cancel your service plan is good too, they can offer pretty good deals sometimes.

But if you can move to another wireless company it'll be even better. I use sprintpcs for over 4 year and they havn't been really nice to me, but i did get a pretty good plan,, it's $35/month for 650 anytime, 3000 night and weekends, starts at 8pm , 500 mobile and moblie. but no new phone. but my tax was like $10???

Anyways I move over to T-mobile and save a bunch,, got a Samsung e-715 for free, along with a e105 that'll pay me $100 after rebate. Get to keep my own number, sign up for a family plan and the tax is only around $6.

The plan a month or so back was free e105 or other phones, 1000 anytime, unlimited night and weeked for $39 a month. also all plans inculde 500 mintues call forwarding.

my contact is almost up so i'm gonna move to another company most likely AT&T and get another new phone and I cna sell my 1 year old ones.. I know I can get at least $150 for the e-715 and $75 for the e015. I love this " you get to keep your old number thingie".
