Details ? ie New signups ? Service committment length ? As wireless service seems to vary and even deteriorate (overloads) in some areas, I would mind paying a little more month to month plan so I can quit without paying a big cancellation penalty.

The deal is on the phone, not on any service contract. Go to the site and check it out.

For the record, the Kyocera Smartphone is already $399 at Office Depot (SKU# 759-481) ... online, at least. There's probably a coupon or a pricematch waiting for you on top of that price.

Sprint PCS suxs totally, since they rip you on service, and customer service is poor to non-existant. When Houston/Galveston area had the huge flood, everyone on Sprint in the the whole city was out for 3 days b/c their crappy network, and I got was a $3 refund on my bill. I got my phone all b/c i needed to use it during an emergency and which would have been bad. I also sent in a $100 MIR for activating 2 new phones, and said I didn't qualify for some reason. If they ever pick up the phone, I would be able to chew them out, but I can't b/c no one answers for hrs.

Never had a problem with my Samsung 6100.

Cust srvc hasn't been bad to me. I pay my bill online, and one month my payment didn't go through for some reason even though I got the confirmation page. So they called me up and told me I had a past due amount, I didn't have the confirmation number any more so I didn't argue and just paid it. Looked at my bank statement and, indeed, the payment had not gone through the first time.

So just don't pay the bill, they'll call you and you can chew em out for a while!

That Kyocera phone does look cool! I've never seen that before. It would make for a really cool toy if I could hook up a OBD-II car computer scanner to it... Imagine the possibilites

I bought a Touchpoint 2100 at BestBuy for $99. The deal that's offered above is a bit better since it ends up being $79 and you're probably going to be spending the extra $50 that you get back on service anyway, but if you just wanted the phone and weren't worried about the credit and whatnot, the BestBuy deal isn't too bad.

Got the Samsung 8500 for $149 at the Sprint PCS store. They gave me the discount on the spot. Suggestion, find the phone, make sure your local Sprint PCS store has it on the spot, and pricematch it at Staples and use a coupon!

rockshox72, I hear you man. I was on the phone with a rep this morning at 1am and was notified that I was going to be charged b/c I had gone over my minutes, when it was all their computer's fault since it didn't switch over my plan correctly. Everything was fine on the internet, but this one Bizniatch refused to listen that I had switched plans and was very happy to be charging me extra, not to mention the fact that I had made all these calls during the weekend, but she had them as daytime peak minutes...I'm waiting to get my bill and will chew them out if it's not as it should be. I agree that Spring sux in our area (Houston/Galveston), but they offer the most minutes and best plan for multiple phones unfortunately...just wish I didn't have that stupid contract length in case something better comes along.

I went to Radio Shack and bought the Sanyo 4500 for $149. There is a $75 rebate on this phone through Radio Shack so the final cost after tax is about $85. Then I signed up for sprints plan through Radio Shack that gives you 3000 minutes (250 anytime and 2750 nights and weekends) for $29.99 for the first 6 months and $34.99 for the last 6 months. Pretty good deal. I checked Cingular, US Cellular, Verizon and the Sprint PCS store and couldn't beat it. Also went to BB,CC, and OD.

This plan is through Radio Shack and is only good for in state calling in Texas for me. Not nation wide. You would have to check with Radio Shack for your state. Sprint is promoting their nation wide plan right now for 39.99 that is pretty good but I don't need it. I did grab the 7 cents a minute long distance for my home phone w/ 50 free minutes a month. Thanks to whoever posted that one.

I bought the Samsung 8500 with a leather case, car charger and headset from a guy on Ebay (1HotCell.com) for $145. It was shipped the same day I bought it (I paid electronically) and arrived in 2 days. Everything was brand new and unopened. If you're looking for a cell phone, I'd check out his prices first.

sprint is da bomb....i have had their service since the day they had a signal and have been with them ever since. their service keeps on improving. i have had cingular and a whole lot of other carriers and the customer service that I recieve with sprint has to be the best. they are open 34-7 and answer all of your questions on the spot. if they can't answer your question, their web site is also pretty good as well.

Tmarkley,
I bought an extra battery, leather case, car charger, signal booster, and hands free for $42.99 shipped on ebay for my Sanyo 4500 and all brand new. So $85 phone and $43 accessories for a total of $128. I'd say we both did pretty good.

they were better than primeco service for a long time over here in austin. plus they covered midland when pretty much no one else did. i'm not switching to anything until i find a better plan and phone (the original dual band touchpoint is the best dasmed phone ever. and i still have my incoming minutes, no roaming, and nationwide long distance intact)
