Good deal, but be aware that the EVDO Rev. A version of this phone, the 6800, will be showing up in a couple of months.
Isn't the 6700 compatible with rev.A?
That depends on what you mean by "compatible". If you mean, will it work on RevA networks, then yes it will. It does not have a RevA chipset though, meaning you don't get the extra features like higher upload speed and simultaneous voice/data. The Treo 700wx also does not contain a RevA chipset.

Can I transfer my old Sprint number to a new Sprint plan?
No. Some people have had success doing things like buying a Tracfone or Cingular prepaid phone, porting your number to there, then porting back.

What THIS one?
Yes, that one.

I was looking through their store and saw that they have a bunch of other phones/pda they were offering too. Is the one you mentioned here the best one you can get from their list?
I haven't taken a look so I don't know what they're offering. Sprint
currently offers three WM-based PPC phones: The PPC-6700, Treo 700wx and Samsung i830. What works best for you really depends.
Thus far, I've owned every WM phone Sprint has released. If I had to pick one of the currents to buy right now, I would pick the Samsung i830. I am a big fan of the i730, which is basically the same phone. Us Sprint owners were promised the i730 but it never showed up. I would pick the i830 pretty much solely based on form factor. The slide-up keyboard is just a lot easier. The side-sliding keyboard on the 6700 is a good idea but in practice just falls a little short.
If you pick the Treo 700wx over the 6700, you get integrated WiFi and a 320x240 screen vs a 240x240 screen. If you pick the i830, you get the 320x240 screen and GSM for international roaming, but no WiFi.
From a simple usability standpoint, the i830 and 700wx walk all over the 6700. If the 700wx had come with a 480x480 screen, there would be absolutely nothing stopping it from being the best pda phone on the market. As it is, there's not a lot of software written for 240x240 screens. This is changing as HP's iPaq phones are 240x240, Verizon has had the 700w out for almost a year and is getting set to release the 700wx in a month or so, Sprint has the 700wx out for about two months now, and the GSM version, the Treo 750, is already out in Europe and is getting ready to hit Cingular and probably T-Mo stateside. The name Treo itself will sell a lot of phones, which will force software devolopers to start supporting square screens. Also, a WiFi card on the 700 is extremely easy. Install the drivers, pop the card in when you want and it takes all of three seconds to connect to a network if you already have it set up.
Check out my short 6700 vs 700wx review here:

All in all, only you can decide whats best for you, but a lot of people dismiss the Treo when looking at the 700wx because of the screen resolution and processor speed (312mhz vs 416mhz). When people say Treo, a lot of people think 'Good phone, OK pda'. It's simply not the case. The 700wx works faster and comes with more avialable memory than the 6700 and probably the 6800, since I think it's going to be a CDMA chipset upgrade only. It's well worth a look. I never thought I'd be a Treo fanboy but one month with their first PPC phone and I'm convinced and I think anyone else would be too.
